You Should Really Start Watching NBC’s Songland

Lights come up. Three of the world’s biggest songwriters. Plus one famous, successful guest artist. An unknown songwriter walks in and performs their original song in the hopes that the artist will want to record it as their own. Then dreams come true.

This is why you should really start watching NBC’s Songland.

The Unmatched Talent of the Judges

A) Ryan Tedder – The Prince of Modern Pop

Having already achieved global success with his band OneRepublic (he’s the lead singer), he spends the other half of his time writing and/or producing songs like ‘Halo’ by Beyoncé, ‘Sucker’ by the Jonas Brothers and ‘Rumour Has It’ by Adele.

He makes music with: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, 5SOS… the list goes on.

B) Ester Dean – The Head of Catchy Hooks

Always wrapped in glitter, this platinum songwriter/producer is responsible for records like ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘S&M’ by Rihanna, ‘Come & Get It’ by Selena Gomez and ‘Super Bass’ by Nicki Minaj. Her mind.

She makes music with: Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Usher, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Little Mix… the names don’t stop!

C) Shane McAnally – The Leader of Lyrical Significance

He’s had over 40 number-one hits, writing and producing songs for himself – and everyone else in the industry. Thanks to him, we have ‘Rainbow’ by Kacey Musgraves, ‘Body Like A Back Road’ by Sam Hunt and ‘Second Wind’ by Maren Morris!

He makes music with: Reba McIntyre, LeAnn Rimes, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line… seriously!
