Disney+ tried really hard to keep this one a secret but we were able to uncover some pretty amazing details about this new film!

What Is the ‘Secret Society of Second-Born Royals’ About?

Everyone knows that the second-born child in royals families often feel like the black sheep of the family. After all, they’re not really in line for the throne so they must find their purpose elsewhere.

After a series of poor life choices, Sam gets sent to a summer boarding school by her mother, Queen Catherine of Illyria. Sam isn’t the only second-born royal at the camp and she quickly bonds with the other four royal members.

While at the camp Sam and her fellow second-born royals discover that they have super-human abilities. They are invited to join a secret society that makes them promise to use their powers to keep peace in their kingdom.

It sounds like this is going to be X-Men meets The Princess Diaries and we can’t wait!

A secret society definitely needs some amazing characters so let’s meet them!

Sam is described as being a “rebellious teenage royal” who would “rather rock out with her bandmate and best friend at an illegal protest” than participate in a royal engagement. Disney’s very own Peyton Elizabeth Lee will be bringing Sam to life in her first big role since playing Andi Mack.

Professor James Morrow has been tasked with teaching these second-born royals how to harness their superpowers and become a team. As such, he’s also responsible for keeping them in line and making sure they don’t reveal the Secret Society to the world. Skylar Astin (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Pitch Perfect) will be playing him.

Not much is known about Roxanne beyond the fact that she is one of the second-born royals who is now apart of the Secret Society. Roxanne will be played by Olive Deeble (Home and Away).

Another second-born royal joining the Secret Society is Tuma. Niled Fitch (This Is Us) is bringing Tuma to life and we know he’s going to kill it!

Matteo is the fourth member of the Secret Society. Disney’s very own Faly Rakontohavana from Raven’s Home will be playing Matteo.

Rounding out the Secret Society is January. Isabella Blake Thomas (Once Upon A Time) has been given the honor of portraying her.

Sam’s best friend and bandmate Max will be played by Noah Lomax (Trial by Fire).

Sam’s mother, Queen Catherine will be played Elodie Yung (Daredevil) while Ashley Liao (Always Be My Maybe) will play Sam’s sister and future Queen of Illyria, Eleanor.

Finally, Grey Byrk (Handmaid’s Tail) has been tasked will bringing to life the Secret Society’s villain Inmate 34.
