The Unlikely Candidates

Get ready to ‘Flatten The Humpday’ with The Unlikely Candidates, who are bringing you some quarantine pick me ups with their weekly live stream. The band premieres new episodes at 4pm EDT every Wednesday (aka HUMP DAY!) You can tune in on the band’s Facebook and Instagram as they bring you live performances, Q&A’s, special guests, and more. It’s just one of the many gifts we’ve been given from the band throughout this quarantine, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys oozes style and grace, as this month’s cover star, for InStyle Magazine. The first issue since the pandemic, the Grammy award-winning singer, discusses her new book More Myself: A Journey, COVID-19, and the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery. She also talks of the female empowerment in her music, which in turn helped her learn to love herself! All photos for the issue were taken by her producer husband Swizz Beatz, and their sons Egypt and Genesis.

Eric Kupper Remixes Diana Ross

Sometimes, all you really need to set a party off right is a good remix! Luckily, this summer’s dance playlist just got a big boost courtesy of classic soul/disco queen Diana Ross and producer Eric Kupper. Following the success of ‘Love Hangover 2020,’ Kupper returns to reinvigorate classic Diana Ross tracks in the upcoming release Supertonic. With digital and physical releases arriving on June 26, Supertonic is sure to get your post-quarantine party started right!

Grey Daze

Linkin Park fans, you better sit down for this one because it’s going to blow your mind! Chester Bennington’s pre-Linkin Park days were spent in a band called Grey Daze, and before his passing, he had announced a reunion with the band. Now, the band is releasing an album to honor Chester and the originally planned reunion. The remaining band members, along with Talinda Bennington (Chester’s widow) and his parents, made it their mission to see the project through. His vocals that appear on the album, recorded in the mid-nineties, give us a look at the man he was before being a rockstar and Linkin Park ever came to be. The album is due out June 26th, and we already know it’s going to be a masterpiece! For a sneak peek, check out his two tracks ‘Sickness’ and ‘What’s In The Eye.’

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert’s charity Feel Something Foundation is thriving, and he kicked off Pride Month with a bang! His foundation and continued partnership with GLAAD is kicking off part two of his 2nd charity costume auction, and the proceeds will benefit GLAAD. He started the auction with a ZOOM panel with himself and LGBTQ Youth from around the US who serve as GLAAD Campus Ambassadors, a volunteer network of LGBTQ and ally college and university students who work with GLAAD and within their local communities to build an LGBTQ movement to accelerate acceptance and end hate and discrimination. Now, about that auction, if you’re interested in placing a bid on your favorite pieces, just visit this website to bid until June 20th at 4 PM est!  Trust us, you’re going to want to get your hands on some of Adam’s fabulous costumes, and you’ll be helping out a great cause!

Equal Vision Records

Equal Vision Records is delivering! They have released Safe & Sound: An Isolation Compilation, as a way to give back to their artists. It features re-imagined and exclusive versions of songs from bands on the label, including Armor For Sleep, Saved The Day, I The Mighty, Young Culture, Sleep On It, Vagrants, and more! That’s not all though, 100% of the proceeds will go to the bands that contributed to the compilation. We are so psyched about it, go and get your copy right here, right now!

The Ghost Of Paul Revere

It’s safe to say, we’re all missing gigs with a burning passion right now. Well, if you’re near Maine then folk-rock band The Ghost of Paul Revere have got you sorted with a series of ‘Live At The Drive-In’ shows. They will take place on June 25th-28th in Farmington, Maine. These will all proceed just like a drive-in movie, except instead of the big screen, you’ll get to bless your ears with some live music! Tickets are available here, and please note that when not in your car, there’ll be social distancing measures in place.

Will Putney’s ‘We Can Do Better’ Livestream

On the 14th and 15th of June, a collective of artists, record labels, producers, and managers, will be joining together in an online charity stream dedicated to raising money for the Black Lives Matter movement. With a host of the biggest names in alternative music, it’s an event not to be missed. It includes discussions, performances, forums, and giveaways. It’s set to be an epic two-day event, and we can’t wait to tune in! If you want to tune in, then you can do so via the event’s website here.

KVELERTAK

KVELERTAK have announced plans for an exciting new Livestream! It’s broadcasting on June 20th, and is titled ‘LIVE FROM AMPER TONE STUDIO’. It follows on from the success of their last live-stream, in April and it is sure to be a treat! They have a great line up of old classic game shows, which they have put there own spin on, as well as a Q&A session, AND they are playing some rarely played songs during the show as well. It is sure to be something you don’t want to miss out on! Check it out here.

Grammy Museum Hall Of Fame

The programs will be available on the Museum’s website on Thursday, June 11th. This is in honor of the original date, the 2020 SHOF Induction & Awards Gala was scheduled for before being postponed to June 2021. This is an unmissable opportunity to hear some great work from people who’ve captured one of the greatest honors in music. Breaking barriers with radio-friendly Nu-Metal, this album was influential and unique. Most importantly though, it left an influence on all the artists to follow. It sent the band from small intimate shows to arena and stadiums. Singles ‘One Step Closer,’ ‘Crawling,’ and worldwide phenomenon ‘In The End’ forever entranced an audience. This album embedded Linkin Park in pop culture forever. […]
