Lead With Love: Project Angel Food
Lead With Love: Project Angel Food. Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, doesn’t it? Well, we’re here to tell you that it is in fact real life. An emergency telethon will be taking place Saturday, June 27th. The event will be hosted by the likes of Eric McCormack, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jessica Holmes. There will be guest star appearances as well as live and taped performances. Project Angel Food first started back in 1989 and continues to work its magic in the LA area. The goal is to raise $500,000 to support the COVID-19 relief fund. KTLA 5 will be broadcasting as well as live streaming the event from 7 to 9 PM. Make a difference and maybe check out the performances in store on June 27th.
For The Nomads Fundraiser
If you’re anything like us at The Honey Pop, the experience of attending concerts and events is sorely missed. With the COVID-19 pandemic shuttering most of if not all concerts and festivals for the year, it can be pretty heart-wrenching to this of all the lost experiences that 2020 could have offered. For some, however, the lack of events is painful for a different reason altogether; a lack of income.
Luckily, thanks to the kind hearts and solidarity of crew members across the world, For The Nomads has announced a second auction to raise funds for those displaced workers during the COVID-19 shutdown.
Featuring memorabilia, one-of-a-kind experiences, merchandise, and more from artists like New Found Glory, Rise Against, Fever 333, I Prevail, and many, many more. Proceeds from the For The Nomads auction will go on to benefit the staff and crew that make the performances we crave possible.
Fans of indie-pop rejoice! Boston’s own indie-pop darlings shallow pools have arrived with a brand new music video for ‘Turnaround’, their fourth release of 2020. Alongside the release of the single, an accompanying shirt inspired by the ‘Turnaround’ single has also been released. As an added bonus, 100% of the sales from the shirt will be donated to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
If you thought the Desert Dwellers duo had shown everything they had all over their past 20 active years, we’ve got everything to prove you wrong! They launched a brand new series of audio-visual experience called “Beyond Borders” on May 15th that was so successful they renewed it on June 19th and will air it once a month from now on. The event is not only based on your basic electronic sounds; it’s a proper showcase of music, art, and movement, that welcomes a lineup of musicians, VJs, and other artists on Twitch! What could make it better, you may ask? Some of the proceeds are distributed to NAACP to help the Black Lives Matter Movement. Tune in for the next event, see you in July!

Roger Daltrey & Harry Hudson
Here at THP, we love counting powerful and inspiring stories of engaged artists. Today, we’re sharing a real conversation between Rodger Daltrey from The Who, Pete Townshend, and rising popstar Harry Hudson who’s been fighting Hodgkin’s lymphoma syndrome and then became an ambassador for Teen Cancer America. Their talk revolves around music, but also the special needs of young people fighting cancer, and last but not least, a center that Harry Hudson will open later in the year at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Harry’s role took an even bigger role with the pandemic and the struggles of the healthcare system. “They [Teen Cancer America] understand that top quality treatment means creating a quality environment for the teen to be able to feel like they can create or just relax and hang out with other patients around their age.”, explains Harry Hudson. Through adapted programs and facilities all over the USA, Teen Cancer America provides huge support to those who need it the most. “Everybody in the music business owes it to adolescents and young adults because that’s the foundation of our industry. If they’re not there for us, we’ve got nothing. We’ve got to be there for them.”, concludes Roger Daltrey.
