To Write Love On Her Arms/ Needs An Ocean

To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) founder Jamie Tworkowski, launched a new clothing brand, Needs An Ocean. The surf-inspired brand has launched with a small collection of apparel. What’s more, for every shirt and hat sold in June and July, $1 will go to one of three charities- Gideon’s Army, Equal Justice Initiative, and Waves For Hope. We all love surfing, but what we love about Needs An Ocean is how Tworkowski hopes to build on the amazing work that TWLOHA does internationally!

Names Without Numbers

If you’re a proper fan of bands like Anberlin, Jimmy Eat World, or Further Seems Forever, you’re going to fall in love with this band- Names Without Numbers. And guess what? The band is set to re-release the 20th Anniversary Edition of their Debut EP on July 3rd! You can pre-order it on iTunes and get the instant download of their hit ‘This Hallmark Moment.’ Don’t miss out on this opportunity! You will be able to relive the glory days and listen to a band that most people had never heard of, but that had enormous potential. The band released their comeback last year called Silos & Smokestacks that you just NEED to hear. Enjoy, and let us know what you think!

Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop

Capricia Productions has announced that Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop has joined the game Of Bird and Cage. What can we all expect from our fav metal king? Well, he’ll be performing the vocal parts for the character Ari, who is in a romantic relationship with the game’s protagonist Gitta, voiced by Kobra Paige from Kobra and the Lotus.

The game itself is set to be a mash-up of storylines while comprising an entire album’s worth of metal music for us all to sink our teeth into. As soon as we have a release date, you’ll be the first to know!

Are you eager to go back to your favorite festivals and artist’s shows, and too tired to wait? We’ve got big news for you! Anti-Flag just announced their Quarantine Sucks, Let’s Party digital tour. The band will stream some of their most impressive sets from festivals and host a live chat with fans. The main idea is to keep on sharing music with fans, remembering stage memories altogether, and getting in a good mood for a better world!” The shows will feature classic sets. You will be able to purchase an “All Access Package,” which will get purchasers private access to a bonus stream on July 1st, a limited-edition T-shirt, and a tour laminate. Have a look at the following schedule to tune in on time!

Calling all Sundressed fans, the band is summoning you for some fun with their ‘Oh Please’ Fan Video Contest. All you have to do is submit a video singing along to their newest single ‘Oh Please,’ and you’ll have a chance to have one of your bills paid by Sundressed and Rude Records. We don’t know about you guys, but with how the world is today, we think we could all use a little help with bills. If you’re interested in entering the contest, click here for all the deets, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

Second Arrows

Second Arrows self-titled debut album is almost here! We are impatiently waiting for it to release, but if you haven’t gotten your copy yet, click here to preorder. Pre-ordering will give you first dibs are the album, that way it doesn’t sell out before you can get your hands on it. The album encapsulates a fascinating first step for a band that refuses to create on anything that’s not on their terms. The band wanted to create something new that no one has heard before; to push the barriers of music nowadays and deliver an ambitiously fierce album! Trust us when we say, it is one album you’re going to NEED in your collection!

Someone bring us some tissues because Lute has made us all emotional. He opened up to fans (and the world) about his struggle with anxiety and his turbulent relationship with it. In the sixth episode of Gold Mouf Chronicles, he sits with director Alexander Hall and his manager Dho over the phone to talk through his trip to Los Angeles earlier this year, and how not being able to record music in a studio for his album due to Covid-19 has aggravated his anxiety. He says, “Quarantine gave me time to reflect and really take a look at myself in the mirror, so I did. Now, I want to show y’all what I’ve seen.” Anxiety is a struggle for a lot of people, and having someone we look up to open up about their struggles, shows us that we are not alone, and will always have someone we can relate to. If you’d like to view the video, you can watch it on YouTube here, and trust us, you’re not going to want to miss out!

Josh Pyke

Josh Pyke is a very busy bee! He’s gearing up to release a new album, he’s just released a new single, he’s got a tour coming up, AND he is releasing children’s books! His album Rome is set for release on August 28th, which we are more than hyped for! His new single ‘Don’t Let It Wait’ is nothing short of a bop, and it will make the perfect addition to your everyday playlist. Now, about that tour, Josh is hitting the road in October for his First-Fans tour. He will be playing several intimate solo sets for his fans. Check his website for available tickets and show dates, but better hurry because some have already sold out!

YG x Mustard

Grammy-award-winning music producer and artist, Mustard has teamed up with longtime friend YG to become…business owners. That’s right, the pair have become co-owners at seven existing Fishbone Seafood restaurants all across LA. Not only that, but they are partnering with Postmates to give back to their community by delivering $100,000 worth of food to LA residents and community organizations. About the business, YG said, “I met one of the owners at a gas station, and he told me we should do business. I called Mustard and told him about the opportunity, and he was ready to go.” Mustard talks on why it was important for them to give back right away, “COVID-19 has hit Black and Brown communities the hardest. YG and I have not forgotten where we come from and feel a duty to support those who are less fortunate and have been our biggest supporters from the beginning.” We love to see such amazing friends working together and doing so much good for their community, especially at a time when it is needed the most!

Cinedigm Corp has teamed up with Glass House Distribution, and have announced a multi-film deal. Starting with gritty drama Gutterbug, a film that takes a dirty dive into the realities of American drug culture where the road to hell is paved with good intentions. The movie has garnered multiple film festival awards, including Grand Jury Award from the Dances With Films Festival and the Audience Award and Jury Prize at the Woods Hole Film Festival. Director Andrew Gibson has also received recognition winning the Emerging New England Filmmaker Award at Woods Hole Film Festival. Gutterbug is set for release on August 11th and is not yet rated. We highly recommend you check out the trailer, and prepare yourself for one epic film!

Warren Haynes

Warren Haynes, Allman Brothers Band guitarist, Gov’t Mule front man & GRAMMY Award-winning artist, has written an op-Ed with an accompanying Spotify playlist. It’s titled A Change Is Gonna Come – Oh, Yes It Will, and here is a snippet:

“Music, along with many other creative art forms, has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to dealing with racism and racial inequality. We’ve always depended on music to be not just a sign of the times, but a representation, in some ways, of what’s important at the moment. Throughout history, during times of hardship, an abundance of great music seems to emerge that is somehow timely and timeless. Musicians throughout history, consequently, have looked to the best in every genre for inspiration. No true musician can claim to embrace the music of someone without accepting the human being from which it came as equal. It is impossible to regard the influence of someone else’s creativity as great while judging the person who created it as somehow inferior. As students of music, we have all learned of countless situations where this rang true, even in earlier, more challenging times…”

You can check out the full written Op-Ed here, and don’t forget to check out the Spotify playlist that goes along with it!

Keedron Bryant

Keedron Bryant is beyond a talent sensation. He’s 12 years old and has already stolen the hearts of so many, including Warner Records, who just signed him to their label on Juneteenth. His heart-wrenching performance of an original track ‘I Just Wanna Live’ made everyone emotional, as he sang about long-standing systemic social injustice and as a plea for change. Warner Records donated 100% of the proceeds from the song to the NAACP, and Amazon Music even got on board the Keedron train and donated $1 for every stream (up to $50,000.) You can stream the emotional single here, let’s get Keedron the recognition he deserves!

A Capitol Fourth

Celebrate the Fourth of July with a little red, white, and groove! A Capitol Fourth will be airing on PBS with special guests to include Patti Labelle, Andy Grammar, Brantley Gilbert, John Fogerty, and more!
