Eric Clapton & B.B.King
Eric Clapton and B.B. King first performed together in 1967, and in 1999 they put their genius minds together and created an album titled ‘Riding With The King.’ The album sold over 2 million copies! Now, to celebrate the 20th anniversary, they have released an extended edition of the album with 2 previously unreleased tracks and remastered audio. It is available in all formats, including a 180-gram black double vinyl package, and a limited-edition 180-gram blue vinyl double LP set is available exclusively on Eric Clapton’s official online store and at indie retailers. This is one legendary album that needs to be in your collection!
Just because we’re still in quarantine doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the museum experience. The Grammy Museum is here to provide us with all sorts of new digital content every week, and it doesn’t disappoint! You can check their website for the full schedule, but some cool names on the July schedule include MAX, Matoma, and Alec Benjamin. This digital series includes new, intimate interviews, via Zoom of course, as well as some educational programs to make up for their coronavirus caused closures. Go ahead and check it out!
It’s always nice to see celebrities talking about stress and anxiety because it helps to remind us that we’re not alone and that it really can happen to anyone! Check out Lute’s episodes of the Gold Mouf Chronicles, where he discusses his anxiety, and how he’s learning different techniques and ways to manage it. He takes you along for the ride as he learns breathing and meditation techniques from Brandon Powell at Dojo Body Mind in Charlotte, NC. You might find some useful tips! Also featured is Lute’s latest single ‘GED (Gettin Every Dolla,)’ which is the theme song for the series. It’s quickly become a fan favorite, maybe it’ll become one of yours!
Are you part of the LGBTQIA+ community and interested in a career in the music industry? Well, Adam Lambert has our backs with his Feel Something Foundation. A round table event was hosted with Adam inviting many of his peers for a discussion on navigating the industry, representation, and identity. There were many singers and songwriters in attendance: Ferras Algaisi, Justin Tranter, Ames, Shamir, LP, Shea Diamond, Mary Lambert, Parson James, Tyler Glenn, Ilsey Juber, Conchita Wurst, VINCINT, Alex Newell and Teddy Geiger. The hope is that more light will be shed on the issues the community faces and encouraging fellow artists. Check out the video for the event here!
Mike Shinoda takes listening to his fans to a whole other level. With his new album on the way, Dropped Frames, Vol. 1, his fans had a big part in making it happen. Through Twitch live streams, he let his fans suggest what kind of sounds and genre-bending stuff they would like to hear on the album. Also, seven of Mike’s fans will be featured on the album track ‘Open Door.’ Being able to create music is what brings people together, and in this case- literally. So far three tracks have been released, and you can catch the album in its entirety when it drops on July 10th.
There’s nothing like a reprint of good stuff. If you’re a lover of vinyl and haven’t gotten your hands on it, now is the time. On August 14th, WSTR is re-releasing their 2015 debut album SKRWD. This album comes with quite a few hits. A length of 6 songs. It all around sounds like a good time and something to look forward to!
BENEE’s single ‘Supalonely’ ft. Gus Dapperton doesn’t seem like it will be slowing down anytime soon. The song is almost at 1 billion streams, can you believe that?! You may be thinking, hey I’ve heard this before, well if you’re on TikTok then you have. The song went viral for months, garnering a TikTok dance challenge along the way. She is still making the rounds performing the song on talk shows, most recently at the Ellen show, so we are certain it won’t take long for it to hit a billion streams.

Take a stroll down memory lane with Killswitch Engage. To celebrate their 20th anniversary of being a band, the group has restarted its Instagram feed. Starting at the beginning of June, each day they post a picture from every year that they were together up to the present day. The group has also put together a 20-year, click through timeline, that includes a lot of important moments and images. They range from Grammy nominations, album releases, old show flyers, and even fan tattoos. We think this is a really fun and sentimental way of looking back in time. It’s something that could be important for both the band and the fans!
Blackpink in your area once again! The record-breaking queens do it again as they make their pre-release comeback with ‘How You Like That’! The brass led, catchy dance beat breaks 5 Guinness World Records, including the most views in 24 hours for an MV and a Kpop MV! The Ghost Of Paul Revere
Let’s make some good out of a bad situation. People everywhere are reviving the long lost art of the Drive-In. One such artist is taking full advantage. The Ghost of Paul Revere has announced a Live At The Drive-In list of shows for July 2020. “We tested it, our community made it incredibly memorable, and now we are beyond excited to announce that we are taking it on the road! Sometimes, working within a limited palette yields an amazingly dynamic result, previously unimaginable – this last weekend’s run of drive-in shows was truly an example of that, we are overjoyed to be able to create music in the physical space again, [and] are determined to make it as safe as possible for all included, and [we] are trying our hardest to get it to our communities outside of Maine. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, but seeing the potential and possibility in this time is our only hope for progress forward, and we hope to make some positively unique memories with you,” said Max Davis of The Ghost of Paul Revere. Sounds like they put in the work to make this a meaningful event. Are you going to catch a show? Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicles unless getting refreshments or using the restroom per CDC guidelines as well as wear masks. Not bad for a chance at getting that concert feel again. We’re sure music lovers will appreciate it.
