Andrew McMahon is set to host a livestream concert for charity! The show is taking place on Saturday, July 11th, provided by On Location Live. This update comes after his 3 upcoming July 10th, 11th and 12th shows at the Drive-In OC, which have quickly sold out.
Part of the proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit his charity, the Dear Jack Foundation. The non-profit serves young adults diagnosed with cancer. McMahon was diagnosed with cancer himself in 2005 at the age of 23, but thankfully, he was able to make a complete recovery. In 2006, he established the organization in order to raise funds for cancer patients and survivors.
McMahon will be performing at the City National Grove of Anaheim’s Drive-In OC. It’s also the 15-year anniversary of the 2005 album, Everything In Transit. McMahon actually released that album under his band’s name, Jack’s Mannequin! Lucky for us, he’ll also be performing tracks from his albums Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and Something Corporate.
Unfortunately, tickets to the physical Drive-In sold out really quickly. Turns out, when Andrew McMahon hosts a concert livestream for charity, people really want to attend. However, we’re hoping it will be just as cool to watch from our beds as ‘Cecilia and the Satellite’ unfolds under the stars.
Will you be virtually attending the show, or will you be driving in? David Guetta did a charity concert livestream, and Alec Benjamin did a livestream tour… what’s your take on livestream shows? Tweet at us @TheHoneyPOP, or share your concert plans in the comments below!
