‘Easy’ – Stray Kids

There’s really no bad song off of Stray Kids’s ‘GO LIVE’ album, ‘Easy’ included. Like the other tracks, ‘Easy’ is super addictive It has a very flowy beat, chorus and rap line. Also the choreo at the slow down part fits so well!. They also just released the music video a couple days ago, STAY are loving it and we know you will too!

‘Hallucinate’ – Dua Lipa

With Future Nostalgia Dua Lipa made one of our albums of the year so far and ‘Hallucinate’ reminds us why. This track will have you hitting the dance floor and living your best life. With infectious lyrics, a fast-paced chorus and a melody that draws you in. Dua can’t do anything wrong in our eyes and no we’re not hallucinating when it comes to that!

‘Life’s A Mess’ – Juice WRLD & Halsey

A posthumous song we are all looking forward to, ‘Life’s A Mess’ by Juice WRLD ft Halsey. We must say, wow. The beat is chill and laid back. We are definitely vibing to it. As for the lyrics though, do we need to go that deep? Right now ‘Life’s A Mess’ and many of us are out there “getting high when [we’re] upset”. We’re in love with Halsey and Juice WRLD’s harmonizing. She really adds that final touch and is that violins we’re hearing? The end came far, far too soon. These lyrics hit too deep and too real on the vocals of an angel. This is straight poetry that can be beautiful, tragic, and happy depending on how you look at it.

‘Fanfare’ – TWICE

Our girls TWICE are back with a Japanese comeback and the girls continue to show their maturity and sophistication as they continue to grow as artists. ‘Fanfare’ has quite the extravagant opening giving real half-time show vibes that would fit perfectly at the Super Bowl (which we may manifest them performing at in 2021?) Full of energetic, toe-tapping, finger snapping beats we can really feel this song as a total mood booster and you can catch us at Fresh Music Friday blasting this on our drive with the windows down as if we are in an original motion picture. A total bop!

‘Agua’ – Tainy, J Balvin

Are you ready, kids?! This new song from the Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge On The Run soundtrack will have you dancing like Spongebob at the Jellyfish Jam. Life on Earth – Summer Walker

Almost a year since her debut album release, Summer Walker is back with her emotion-filled EP Life On Earth. Her syrupy vocals entwined with contemporary soul and R&B sing about perspicacious observations of relationships through all aspects, taking you through quite the rollercoaster of a journey within this 5 track EP. If you’re new to Summer’s music, we recommend you don’t delay a moment longer and make sure this EP is in your heavy rotation.

‘Me Before You’ – Mali-koa

A well-deserving favorite here at Fresh Music Friday, Mali-Koa delivers a beautiful ballad ‘Me Before You.’ A genuinely beautiful human inside and out, her voice alone could bring a tear to our eyes. But the powerful meaning behind this song it is bringing the rain. Incredibly relatable, Mali misses who she was before. Making fans proud as always, her voice is unmatchable, and this song is hella relatable. We stan.

‘Nothin’ – EXO-SC Chanyeol

One of two teasers posted this week, Chanyeol’s solo track ‘Nothin’ is wow. A vast contrast to the pop sounds we heard in the group track ‘Telephone’, his solo track gives us sultry R&B that flows well with his vocals. The contrast of the red and blue lighted scenes match the feeling of the song perfectly, and we can’t get enough of it.

‘Come & Go’ – Juice WRLD ft Marshmello

Our second track in Fresh Music Friday by the late legend. Juice WRLD was one of a kind. A light to the music industry, we remember him today, and always. The drop of his album Legends Never Die, one that fans have been eager to hear. ‘Come & Go’ featuring Marshmellow is a song for all to enjoy. All about love and trying not to ruin it, Juice speaks to us all. The addition of Marshmello creates a whole new level of greatness to the song. Showing everlasting versatility that we know and love, this song smacks. Juice WRLD was never one to stick to a particular genre, always versatile, and that’s what is delivered in this song.

‘Snack’ – Keke Palmer

A snack served by a whole meal. If you think one play of Keke Palmer’s ‘Snack’ is enough, it isn’t! It opens up with a really fun beat. The chorus is also really really catchy. It’s really hard to not jam and dance along to. We think it will probably be trending very very soon, especially on platforms such as TikTok and we’re ready to learn the new dance craze!

Monster – SR14G

Red Velvet‘s first sub unit SR14G has finally made its debut and we are beyond hyped! Consisting of Irene and Seulgi, the duo have dropped their mini album and takes quite a different route from the main group’s established sound, with a more mature and sophisticated sexy edge which offers something new for ReVeluv and has the ability to hook new listeners into streaming this alluring new record. We’re lacing up our boots, applying red lipstick and strutting our stuff around our bedrooms as we hit the replay button again and again!

Lighter – Donna Missal

Indie-soul singer Donna Missal is back with a story to tell on her new album Lighter. After chasing stories her entire life, this record is a brutal yet beautiful tale of her life so far. It’s a story full of highs, lows, retrospect and a sense of youth gone by. Our favourite part of ‘Lighter’, has to be the sheer beauty of Missal’s vocals. Every note she sings on this record is sung with sheer conviction. With tracks like ‘Bloom’ and ‘Who Loves You’, if you’re looking for blissful vocals then you’re in the right place.

‘XS (Remix)’ – Bree Runway

If you’re not already on the Rina Sawayama hype train, then where have you been?! One of this year’s biggest breakout stars, Sawayama is the female solo artist we’ve been crying out for. Not only has she been dedicating all her time to the BLM movement recently, but she’s just dropped another hit tune. ‘XS Remix’ featuring has all the sheer excellence from the original but Bree just keeps giving us more. Here at Fresh Music Friday we can’t wait to see what lies in store for both Rina Sawayama and Bree Runway. But something tells us this is just the beginning…

Telephone – EXO-SC ft 10cm

Ahead of the release of their 1st full album 1 Billion Views, EXO-SC (a sub-unit of members Chanyeol and Sehun), have released music videos to tease fans. One of these was the release of ‘Telephone,’ which features 10 CM, a song that will have you vibing in your seat. The music video shows Chanyeol and Sehun in various scenes, from bright colors in their living room to the dark and angst side as they take sledgehammers to computers. These scenes perfectly capture the meaning of the song, the waiting around for someone who won’t respond, their excuses, and acting as if it’s not bothering you, when in fact, it very much is. The pop feel of the song makes it great for summer, and if the rest of the album is like this, we are in for something history-making.

‘Make You Dance’ – Meghan Tranor

This super fine-tune makes a perfect addition to Fresh Music Friday. A song dedicated to dancing away the evil thoughts, everyone here can relate. We hate to be cliché, but this song will make you dance. Allowing Meghan to showcase her astounding voice, her talent truly shines through. The best part, though, about this song is that it also delivers a little bit of edge. Who doesn’t love that?

‘Daisy’ – Ashnikko

Our number one Ashnikko has done it again just weeks after her hit ‘Cry’. If you’re on the hunt for a track to fill you with bad bitch energy then ‘Daisy’ is just for you! ‘i’M THE TREND’ – (G)I-DLE

Get ready to embrace a new ear worm because (G)I-DLE’s captivating new single will not be leaving your head for the forseeable future. This fearless new track is a “thank you” to the girl’s fans known as Neverland and cleverly references other hits including ‘Oh My God’, ‘Blow Your Mind’ ‘LATATA’, “LION’, and ‘Uh-Oh’. Following their recent US debut, (G)I-DLE are rapidly gaining new fans and after hearing this anthem, we’re confident you’ll be stanning soon, too.

‘If Only You’d Try’ – Only The Poets

Stop. Take a deep breath. Have a moment to ground yourself. That’s what the Reading four piece we know as Only The Poets want you to do today! Their latest track ‘If You’d Only Try’ is a tear jerking ballad about suicide prevention and we’re trying not to cry. Lead singer Tommy Longhurst’s beautifully simplistic vocals are set against soft piano, allowing the lyrics to speak for themselves. While we’re all upset we didn’t get to see them live as much as we wanted to this year, we’ll be counting down the days till we can have a good cry to this track live. What’s more, they’ve even promised us their next song is an upbeat one!

‘On Me’ – EXO-SC Sehun

More EXO? YES PLEASE! We now have Sehun’s solo track, ‘On Me’, with it’s Hip-Hop sound that is amazing. Not only is the sound a bop, but the music video gets to showcase Sehun’s dancing which we love to see. The sounds we hear reminds us of late 90’s/early 2000’s, very fitting for his rap style. It’s a song that should be played on a night out and we can’t wait for more.

‘I Wanna Know’ – The Hunna

Anyone who knows 5SOS, will also know what a music industry legend John Feldman is. At the start of the year he worked with English band The Hunna. Now this week they’ve dropped another mega hit cooked up in his LA studio! When we say, ‘I Wanna Know’ is a perfect tune to have a jump around and a headbang to, we ain’t lying. It’s full of some catchy guitar and bass riffs as well as some saucy lyrics 👀. Of course we’d have all preferred to rock out to ‘I Wanna Know’ at a show or festival this year, our bedrooms will have to suffice!

‘Boom’ – Lay

The song of summer if here, and it is bought to us by EXO’s Lay. Trust us when we say that from the first beat, you’ll be captivated by ‘Boom.’ The song has a mix of Latin and EDM sounds that work very well together, making it hard not to dance along. The song is meant to make listeners happy and want to vibe, as tweeted by Lay himself, and he definitely succeeded in doing that. You’re going to want to do yourself a favor and add this to your summer playlist ASAP!
