Zac Brown Band
On July 3rd, the multi-platinum GRAMMY award-winning Zac Brown Band, hosted a free Livestream to raise money for Camp Southern Ground and its veteran support programs. , which is a nonprofit passion project of the band’s lead singer. The Livestream was in partnership with LiveXLive, and it streamed to nearly 600,000 Viewers. In turn, they raised $1.4 million dollars for Zac Brown’s foundation. Not only did the band perform some fan favorites, but there were also guest appearances by NBC News co-anchor and broadcast journalist Hoda Kotb, Medal of Honor recipient Salvatore Giunta, and former Seahawks player and Green Beret Nate Boyer. About the Livestream and his foundation, Zac says, “I’m always in awe of the sacrifices and selflessness of our military, it’s really the special kind of people who choose to serve our country. The live stream was an amazing celebration for all the people who have fought, died, and lived their life so that we can be safe. We are honored to do our part to support them in any way we can.” We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Camp Southern Ground, and the Zac Brown Band!
Lindsey Ell is launching the Make You Movement inspired by her new song ‘Make You.’ The Make You Movement will provide monetary funds to organizations that focus on disenfranchised youth and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic abuse. Ell has committed to donating all her proceeds from ‘Make You’ to the Make You Movement. The first partner organization receiving funds from the Make You Movement will be The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network. On top of that, the single will release on Global Forgiveness Day. On doing this Lindsay says, “I wanted to release it on Global Forgiveness Day. Forgiving people in our past is a huge thing for whatever reason, but forgiving yourself is so important. There’s an incredible amount of healing that can happen, and it can’t happen until you can truly open up that forgiveness for your own heart.” We love that, and we love how strong she is for telling her story through ‘Make You.’ Our hearts are with you, Lindsay!

These individuals will become the driving force behind the Recording Academy, and it’s encouraging to see how our membership continues to evolve each year as we take steps toward building a more inclusive and vibrant community.” Current membership is 26 percent female and 25 percent from traditionally underrepresented communities. The new invitees are 48 percent female, 21 percent African American/African descent, 8 percent Hispanic, and 3 percent Asian American and Pacific Islander.
