Are you an Apple Music user? If so, you’re in luck because James Bay just partnered up with them for their Apple Music At Home Home Sessions! He did two covers, one of ‘Trouble’ by Coldplay, and one of ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ by Oasis!
Listen to James Bay’s covers here on Apple Music! And hey, if you never tried it, you can always get that free trial to test out how you like it!
His voice just calms us so easily. We’re in love with his acoustic covers, and we hope you feel the same way! It’s ironic because he wouldn’t even have expected to cover these artists as a kid.
“It’s funny, I didn’t really like Oasis or Coldplay as a kid. I picked up a guitar at 11 years old and wanted to be The Rolling Stones, Clapton, Hendrix. But as I got deeper and deeper into songwriting and studying great songs, I came to love Oasis, Coldplay, and more great modern songwriters. I totally fell in love with the music. So much so that I now sit and play their songs to myself on guitar, that’s why I chose them, they’re just so timeless and brilliant.”James Bay
This isn’t all we’ve heard from him recently though, as we’re still jamming to ‘Chew On My Heart,’ both the original and acoustic versions! In fact, the song hit 10 million streams across platforms! We’re so proud that he could create this new music with such good vibes and people are paying attention to it and loving it as we do. James will be performing on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday, August 25 to sing ‘Chew On My Heart,’ so make sure you tune in!
We’ll be watching it -all snuggled up with blankets to be as cozy as possible- to see his performance! Just like this dog right here. Yeah, that’ll be us.
James isn’t the only one to do the Apple Music At Home Sessions; some other artists that have done it, including AMA, Arlo Parks, beabadoobee, Ellie Goulding, JC Stewart, Maisie Peters, and Rhys Lewis! You should def check theirs out if you have the time!
So, we already told you that we love James Bay’s Apple Music At Home Session, but what do you think? Which cover was your favorite: Coldplay or Oasis? Let us know by dropping us a comment or by tweeting us @TheHoneyPOP!
