Biffy Clyro has returned from hibernation to have a party about their latest album A Celebration of Endings. It’s a record of the times, full of euphoric fear and acceptance about life’s changeability. It’s also an album we’ve had playing on repeat since its release!
If you’re not caught up on these Scottish guitar gurus, then allow us to give you a crash course in all things Biffy. They quickly rose from humble independent beginnings to cement themselves in Britain’s rock scene. Over the past 25 years Simon Neil, James, and Ben Johnston have carved themselves into UK festival culture, and we’re here to tell you to stop sleeping on them!
So, if like us you’re intrigued and want to dip your toe in the Biffy Clyro pool, we think their latest record is an excellent place to start. There’s nothing this band does better than punchy guitar riffs and powerful lyrics. A Celebration of Endings is no different.
This is a very forward-looking album from a personal perspective and a societal perspective. You can retain everything you loved before, but let’s lose the bad shit. It’s about trying to take back control.
Still not convinced? The band played a virtual concert this weekend too! Alongside visuals and stage design we adored, Biffy Clyro only proved that they’re just as talented without an audience screaming their songs right back at them. The show’s available on their website and YouTube, but for now, here’s a sneak peek!
