‘Temptation’: Our Breakdown
This song sounds like Saturday night in the city – like we’re in an Uber, on our way to the club, and Spotify suggested this song to start Girls’ Night. Tiwa’s vocal runs are slipping over the track like satin. Sam’s bright voice brings energetic, pulsating lights to the dance floor… mesmerizing. During quarantine, songs like these can take us to a nightclub when we can’t go ourselves!
Meet Tiwa Savage
If you haven’t heard of Tiwa Savage, let us introduce you to her! She regularly mixes pop, Afrobeats, R&B, and hip-hop to produce her unique sound. Her biggest hits are songs like Ma Lo (feat. Wizkid and Spellz) and All Over, garnering nearly 100 million views on YouTube, combined. She’s an artist to start following if you’re new to her music!
Genre-Bending: Our Take
Let’s talk genre-bending. We did not expect Afrobeats and UK influences to effortlessly blend like this. It’s really exciting to see musicians fully embrace themselves within their musical identity, and watch the top charts diversify. Kind of reminds us of the BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez collaboration, uniting K-Pop fans and Top 40 fans over great music. With this exciting collaboration from Tiwa and Sam, we can only imagine what the future of popular music has in store!
