The Smashing Pumpkins: Continuing Colossal Significance

The Smashing Pumpkins: Continuing Colossal Significance

Chicago’s very own, old school-legends The Smashing Pumpkins have made monumental music over the past few decades. Since 1998 to be exact, luckily they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Having found main-stream success and never straying from a sound that is exclusively their own with debut album Gish in 91’, and finding super success with 4x multi-platinum Siamese Dream, the band took off. Making waves with 10x multi-platinum Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness.

With seven additional studio albums, the band has landed multiple awards. GrammysMTV VMA, and American Music Awards making them an always relevant force in the alternative rock world. With a recent signing to Sumerian Records, this has been colossal for The Smashing Pumpkins. Influential, iconic, and forever timeless, they’ve been significant to the music industry now and forever.

We’ve got new tunes from the industry titans, TWO, that you can check out right now. All of this comes with confirmation of a new studio album! Complete with founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberline, and longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Cyr’

As always, The Smashing Pumpkins deliver us an interesting view of music and performance. Creating during the lockdown and shot remotely, this is a Gothic-fever-dream. Full of artistic visuals, you can find a momentary escape from emotional dark clouds. Those that have darkened our sky over this year. Undeniably themselves, it’s no new news that this band remains one of the most influential alternative bands of their time as they continue selling out arenas and gain worldwide praise.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘The Colour Of Love’

As for the second single? Of course, it rocks hard too. Sounding like pre-era Gish, this is a fully fueled The Smashing Pumpkins masterwork. Vocals and sounds distinctive and quite frankly matchless we will forever love. This song is an absolute gift to longtime fans and new fans alike.

We oldies here at THP are beyond stoked for new music from The Smashing Pumpkins. From the sounds of the singles, the wait is worth it.
