The duo of CrankThatFrank (Frank Gioia), and MAKEOUT guitarist, Tyler Young, have another great metalcore banger for us with their band VantaVoid. This time they teamed up with Frankie Palmeri of Emmure.
This is a song that is for the people who don’t fit in and don’t want to, which is awesome. “We want to be a place for those who feel out of place,” Tyler Young said, “If you don’t fit in, you are welcome here.” VantaVoid wants their entire band, and every song, to be for the people who don’t fit in and for them to embrace who they are.
This past Friday, they brought us another song, ‘Burn.’ First off, for just a lyric video, the animation is insane. They put a lot of time into this, it is not just a Prezi style lyric video. They sat down and built some wicked animated environments, even the dude who is sitting on his bed watching the fire has hours of detail. Those look like movie-level animation.
Gioia has some amazing vocals too, per usual, he isn’t a joke around YouTube music gig. He is real. His music is raw and about real things, which is the whole point of the metalcore scene. Tyler Young also shreds on the guitar, whether it be VantaVoid or Makeout, he is elite and very underappreciated.
“Burn is a song about destroying everything I love and hate. It comes from a very self-destructive time in my life where I didn’t want to channel my anger into anything but destroying every bridge I ever built. Not only is this the heaviest song we have, but Frankie Palmeri from Emmure adds his own flair to the track and we were fortunate to have Drew Fulk (WZRD BLD) mix it.”
Frank Gioia on the meaning behind ‘Burn’
We love angry songs. It is always great to hear about how the artists overcame their struggles then made a song about them.
