Yungblud officially announces a new album WEIRD! Set for release Friday, November 13th, and already we love the vibe. Our Yorkshire youngster has more accomplishments at twenty-three than most people conquer in a lifetime. While most people’s first instinct would be to be jealous, we’re endlessly proud as he storms the world by stage. A generational voice of empowered youth, outspoken uniqueness, and a matchless breed of rock and roll, we can’t get enough.
To get fans, especially us, excited about the new album the ever so talented singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist, Yungblud has launched a new track ‘god save me, but don’t drown me out.’ An ode to modern bedtime prayers, ending with a heartfelt goodnight message to fans, this song quickly lands on the list of songs that make us cry. Anchored with guitars, the single creates an anthem for all, facing constant pressure, inner turmoil, and the road to self-acceptance. Find out for yourself, by streaming the song right here, right now – but don’t forget the tissues, because this one is a tear-jerker.
Yungblud – ‘god save me, but don’t drown me out’
Producing raw vulnerability from the start of his career, Weird! will most certainly be Yungblud’s most personal and complex work to date. Dom explains, “It’s a story of coming-of-age and self-acceptance and liberation, in terms of sex and gender and drugs and heartbreak and all the other twists and turns we go through in life.”
Always staying true to himself in the sense of never tying himself down to one genre, the album will embody an eclectic sound, to say the least. Inspirations leading to Queen-like harmonies, Beatles-esq chord progression, entangled elements of dance-punk, glam rock, hip-hop, and our favorite metal, this album is going to be utterly kick-ass. Pre-order it in any format you desire (CD, vinyl, or cassette) now, here.
I hope it makes people feel like it’s okay to feel out of place or twisted or weird because *life* is weird—but that’s what beautiful about it. So don’t ever try to live it as someone else. Live it as you.
Truthfully, we couldn’t agree more.
