Fit For A King just released their fourth single off their upcoming album The Path. ‘Annihilation’ is the brand new song, and the band has amazed us once again! They really keep proving that they are one of the most underrated metal core bands of today.
‘Annihilation’ has good meaning behind it that we stand for. The band’s frontman, Ryan Kirby, said it best.
“Annihilation is about welcoming the destruction of who you are, in order to build up to something better. There are definitely times we can improve and fix the issues we have, but sometimes, a fresh start is what we need, and in order to do that, we have to start from the ground up,”
-Ryan Kirby on ‘Annihilation’
This song is easily one of our personal favorites from them as of late. It’s an in-your-face style song, and we love that in the metalcore scene. They have been together for the past 13 years and are still that band. Unlike most bands, they have always stayed true to their style of music as well.
The band’s forthcoming, sixth album, The Path, is due out this Friday, September 18. The Path leans harder on the metal side of their sound while also staying with the catchy choruses that propel their fiercest vocals yet.
They have stated that this album has some inspirations from Slipknot, August Burns Red, and Killswitch Engage. Much like those bands, Fit For A King wants The Path to be an anthem for people to keep going in the path of life and to never give up.
