Since the band was feeling so giving, it’s our turn! Here are five must-listen songs from our friends in The Smashing Pumpkins. Listen, love, repeat.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Today’

When you think The Smashing Pumpkins, you think this song. Don’t worry – that’s a good thing. Embodying everything we love about this band, this song is a necessary addition to any old school playlist – plus it’s a favorite of many notable people – including our very own.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘1979’

Although this song is 20 years old, the relevancy it holds is forever. A perfect addition to many movie soundtracks, it’s just a great song. Timeless like the band itself, we’re always celebrating 1979.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’

The world IS a vampire. Whatever that means, right? This song is another classic. The Smashing Pumpkins sound is just so incredibly unmatchable, and this song proves it. In contrast, Tacking Back Sunday (and others) have done a great job covering this song, nothing like the original. Jam tf out on this one.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Disarm’

Another song that never ever gets old. This one has helped a great deal of people get through their shit, whatever it is. We’re thankful for this one and thankful it influenced Silverstein, who did a fantastic cover for Songs That Saved My Life.

The Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Zero’

Come on…the riff alone here is something everyone needs to hear. ‘Zero’ is just a killer song to jam to, always.
