If you thought BTS was going anywhere…you were wrong. ‘Dynamite’ and BTS secured once again the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It’s been more than a month since ‘Dynamite’ was released but it clearly still hasn’t gotten old. After debuting At the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and staying there for two straight weeks, ‘Dynamite’ did drop to the 2nd spot last week. But now, they’re back to No. 1.
‘Dynamite’ Sets New Records
Before this, ‘Dynamite‘ had already broken so many records. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in a row; it made BTS the first Korean act to do so. And of course, it also smashed the record for the most-viewed YouTube video within the first 24 hours of its release.
Returning to the No. 1 spot of the Hot 100 chart this week, BTS and ARMY showed how strong and hard-working they are. The song earned 14 million U.S. streams, going up of 11%, and 153,000 downloads sold, going up of 96%, in the week ending on September 24th.
This is the single’s third week at the No. 1 spot. According to Billboard, this would be the first song by a duo or a group to be at least three weeks at No. 1 in almost two years since Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’. Not only that, ‘Dynamite’ is the first song to top Digital Song Sales for five weeks since Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’.
BTS As The New Icons of This Generation
BTS is next to big names in the industry. Once again, BTS showed that they deserved the recognition as much as any western artist. Not only are they topping the charts, but they’re setting new standards and becoming this generation’s icons. ‘Dynamite’ being the song that shows this is so important as they created it in the hope to bring joy and some light to people’s lives during these hard times.
Having them topping the charts with music that influences and brings hope and happiness to people is so meaningful and important now more than ever. And they spread this message not only through their music but also through everything else they do. And it also shows what type of artists BTS are.
They spread this message not only through their music but also through everything else they do. Not long ago, they made a speech at the 75th UN General Assembly, making it their second speech at the UN. BTS are not only topping the charts with their incredible music and taking over the world with it; they’re also setting an example and sending a message of hope and love.
And if you thought BTS was ready to slow down as they take over the world, you were wrong. Even with only a few months left of 2020, so many exciting things are yet to come this year for BTS and ARMY.
This week alone will be massive for them. We’re currently in the middle of the BTS Week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where they’ll be guests for a whole week. They already gave us an outstanding performance of ‘IDOL’ that seemed to celebrate Chuseok. And a remix of another Hot 100 charting song, ‘Savage Love’ by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo featuring now BTS will be released on October 2nd. Plus, they’re also featured on the new cover of Variety.
Also, their new online concert BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E is taking place on October 10 and 11. They’ll perform songs from Map Of The Soul: 7 that we’ve been dying to hear live since they were released earlier this year.
And of course, what’s even more exciting is their highly anticipated new album, BE. It will be released worldwide on November 20th. This comeback is not like anything we’ve seen before. This is set to be the more “BTS-esque” album yet, as they took part in every part of the creative process. And we could not be more excited about it.
BTS have already broken so many records and they’ve set their mark and influence in so many ways. But they’re not stopping anytime soon. With ‘Dynamite’ and this milestone, BTS showed the world that they’re not even close to being just a trend – they’re here to stay. There hasn’t been anyone like them before them and there’s never gonna be anyone like them. So if you don’t already, what are you waiting for.
