Yoshiki & Kodansha Bring Us A Spicy Birthday Celebration

Know who Yoshiki and Kodansha are? Do you LOVE Yoshiki? Are you mesmerized by his looks and talent? Is there anything the man can’t do? Doesn’t seem so with the latest news to hit these streets. Last time we talk about Yoshiki being featured and interviewed in popular Japanese magazine Numero Tokyo. Now though we’ve taken this to the next level, or Kodansha has.

Who or What is Kodansha?

Never heard of them? Lies! Kodansha is the biggest publishing company in Japan. Manga and literary magazines, nothing is off the table for them. The company’s home is Bunkyo, Tokyo, and was founded by Seiji Noma in 1909. Noma-san’s family continues to run this business to this very day. Steeped in culture and generational dedication, we are over the moon that they are publishing this book. It is such an honor!

XY Yoshiki

It may be weird for me to say this myself, but I still look good, and I think I can still keep going for a while. But behind the scenes, I put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears—hopefully this’ll be the trigger to start releasing some music.

We get the honor to celebrate all things Yoshiki on his birthday! Available on November 20th this is more than just a picture book shot by the award winning photographer Melanie Pullen. Melanie grew up influenced by family friends Andy Warhol and Allen Ginsberg, and has exhibitions in museums around the world. We know she’ll do this man justice and from what we’ve seen so far… There is so much more in store for us. Yoshiki’s sensuality practically jumps off the page/screen and we are living for it. Not only that, but we get behind the scenes footage, a whole 30 minutes including an interview with Yoshiki himself as well as his stellar Hollywood team. You can check out a 4-minute sneak peek below and man, our hearts are definitely going ドキドキ (doki-doki) after this…

On top of all that XY will come in a special custom cosmetic box package. Japan is the true King of packaging and goodness so we know it will be beautifully done with love and dedication in mind. Want yours? You’ll find it for around ¥11,000 to ¥10,000 (yen)… which equals about $104 USD. There is also a digital kindle book edition on amazon for ¥7,700.
