Wallows wows with EP Remote.
Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, Cole Preston are the trio that makes up the alt-rock-indie gem of a band that is Wallows. The same ones that have blown us away with this EP. Not only did the band put out an EP that astounds, but they also did so in a way that showcases their undeniable love and dedication to the music. Not seeing one another during the EP’s completion, the boys took to iPhone’s voice memo app to record vocals and FaceTime to work collaboratively.
Damn, did they kill it. Remote starts by getting our heart rates jumping with ‘Virtual Aerobics.’ A quirky, fast-paced jam – we find this to be a perfect opener to get fans warmed up for what’s to come. Wallows keep us breaking a sweat with track two, ‘Dig What You Dug,’ and we love the way they say, well, everything. A full groove, we’re certainly digging what they’ve dug.
Transitioning ever so effortlessly into single ‘Nobody Gets Me (Like You),’ the EP rocks on. You didn’t really think that we weren’t going to pass up an opportunity to talk about how much this song rocks – did you? A piece like this doesn’t come around very often.
Wallows – Nobody Gets Me (Like You)
The overall vibe of Remote is fast-paced and fun. Although Wallows sends us into our feels with track four ‘Coastlines.’ Lyrically relatable as hell, we don’t mean to be dramatic. Still, we collectively agree (and we’re sure you will too), this is our favorite track on the EP.
Wallows – ‘Coastlines’
Wrapping up Remote are songs ‘Talk Like That’ and ‘Wish Me Luck.’ Both tracks are so full of life in their own unique ways that we’re left in utter awe of Wallows. Rightfully proud of what they’ve accomplished with this EP from start to finish (in that order – Dylan said) is sheer brilliance. A sound so unique almost every track just makes you feel fancy.
