The battle of the bands has begun! The first set of performances for Little Mix: The Search kicked off this weekend and we saw all six bands perform together with their new names and having spent time together while working their socks off. It’s no secret that Little Mix have total taste but this was proven even further as the bands they created for this competition took to the stage and they all brought something pretty amazing! Let’s get to know the six bands competing for the chance to tour with the girls…

Since September

Since September are the vocal and instrument band of the group and consist of Matthew Nolan, Harry Holles, Jacob Fowler, and Patrick Ralphson. The quartet brings an edgy flair to the contest and performed a rock version of Taylor Swift‘s ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ as they opened the show. They give off vibes that match The Vamps, McFly, and a little sprinkle of 5SOS. Could they have the potential to be the next big Brit rock band?
“From the second we put you together we know we created something special!” – Perrie

Nostalia

Nostalia is the girl vocal group and consists of Mya-Louise Smith, Tamara, Shanice, Esther Durin, and Tyler Lewis. If you’re someone who thrives on 90s aesthetic and sound, then you’re gonna love these girls! We can definitely feel some Destiny’s Child and TLC from these girls as they revamp the retro and bring it to the current time. They performed ‘Case of the Ex’ by Mya for their first performance.
“You bring me back to the 90s!” – Jesy

New Priority

New Priority is the boyband of the show and consists of Talis Eros, Lee Collinson, Kaci Brookz, Zeekay, and Adam Harison, and performed ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ by The Weeknd for their first performance. The boys aim to not fit into the stereotypes of your typical boyband but if you vibe with Big Time Rush, New Hope Club, and CNCO then we think you’ll love them!
“I feel like they were a guest performance on The Search! You all bring a different ingredient.” – Perrie

YChange

YChange are the Rap/R&B group that consists of Versay, Romina, Eden Tikare, and Ashley Tragic and are full of swagger! For fans of NDubz, Stormzy, Black Eyed Peas, and Tinie Tempah, you definitely need to check them out! They performed West Ten by AJ Tracey and Mabel for their first song.
“You’re so current, you’re so cool, you’re so fresh!” – Leigh-Anne

Melladaze

Melladaze are the girl dance group of the show and consists of Lauren Bowry, Megan Whelan, Ellie Allen, Liv Aidam, and Aislí Morgan. If Little Mix and Ariana Grande were to have a lovechild, we think it would be Melladaze! They truly bring the glam to the show. The girls performed ‘Sucker’ by the Jonas Brothers for their first performance, and though they ended up in the sing-off, they did enough to prove to Little Mix that they have got what it takes to continue on in The Search.
“Your chemistry and friendship reminds me of us.” – Leigh-Anne

Jasper Blue

Jasper Blue is the mixed group on the show and consists of Rosie Mac, Melina Halpin, Liam McHugh, and Jordan Smithy. This quartet have a lot of fun and free spirit about them. It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen a mixed group on the charts but if you were into the likes of Steps, and S Club 7, these four bring that vibe into the modern age. They performed ‘Just Got Paid’ by Sigala, Ella Eyre, and Meghan Trainor. Sadly, Jasper Blue were the first group to be eliminated from The Search but we wish them all the best and are crossing all our fingers in hopes they’ll continue on after the show!

So there you have it; here are the six groups and one of them will be lucky enough to join Little Mix on the Confetti tour next year! We love them all and wish they could all join the girls on the road, but hopefully, all six bands will have bright futures ahead of them.
