It’s that time of year where you may have already binge-watched your classic Halloween staples. So, we decided we would rustle up a few forgotten classics, cheesy but necessary, and hidden gem movies that may become your future favorite spooky vibe!
The Last Horror Movie (2005)
Nothing is scarier than the thought of something that can indeed happen, and with this movie, you could get more than you bargained for- hehe. The film’s perspective is from the serial killer vlogging his adventures and taking you along for the ride; the question is, though, is when who will the next victim be? Suspense, dark humor, and the ultimate realism of this movie make it enchanting and definitely deserving of your attention.
This film is the ultimate horror movie classic that often gets slept on by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. Psycho introduced many spine-chilling moments and techniques that are still used within the genre today. And the movie holds some classic horror movie staples such as the iconic shower scene, and the haunting soundtrack makes it all the more creepy. In its time, this movie had audiences running out of the theaters in terror, so the question is, will you be able to stick it out and maybe even the sequels that follow? Norman Bates is waiting for your answer.
House Of Wax (2005)
We needed to include a cheesy movie in the Halloween horror mix, and this film certainly provides that. House Of Wax is a remake that you may spot some familiar faces starring within, including Paris Hilton. And no one is safe, who will turn into a waxwork next? It’s one of those movies that will quickly become a guilty pleasure in the best kind of way because of all the cheesy moments; it’s an easy and humorous watch.
Have you ever heard of the Candyman? It has been said if you look in the mirror and say his name five times, he will appear, and the rest you will have to watch to find out! Before the time of Slender Man and the Creepypasta files, we had the Candyman’s urban legend, which has also had a 2020 remake. But give the original your time, and prepare for some unexpected jump scares and for a tale that will haunt your dreams.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
An accident happens, a terrible accident, and they think they’re in the clear. But someone knows, and they’re not going to get away with it! With its horror slasher vibes and the teen rom-com dream cast of its era, this film is both cheesy and eerie all at once. It also spawned some very watchable sequels and the boogeyman ‘The Fisherman.’
