The MTV EMAs just took place over the weekend and saw celebrations of the most loved artists in Europe. Our queens Little Mix (minus Jesy, get well soon bb!) hosted the star-studded virtual affair and while it was different to what we’re used to from the awards, it still was a darn good time! If you so happened to miss the awards or just want to relive the best of the best, we’re sharing with you our top moments of the night.

Doja Cat giving ‘Say So’ a total makeover
One of the many artists making an MTV EMA debut was Miss Doja Cat, who totally blew us away with her performance of ‘Say So.’ the pop-fuelled track was almost unrecognizable as she gave it an incredible rocker revamp with live instruments and everything. It was almost as if it belonged on a punk-goes-pop compilation as a cover and honestly we were living for it!
Jade’s social distancing outfit

With the new normal encouraging social distancing, Jade Thirlwall said “make it fashion” and honestly we would not be mad if this was in the SS21 trends, tbh.
Yungblud’s incredible performance (and Dave Grohl introducing him)

Our Yorkshire lad Yungblud had a fairly great night. Not only did he win an EMA for Best Push, but he also gave one hell of a performance of his two 2020 singles ‘Cotton Candy’ and ‘Strawberry Lipstick.’ And who better to introduce his performance than the one and only Dave Grohl? Dom was total ecstatic to find this out and we were losing our chill when it happened.
The recognition of KPOP

Last year we saw NCT 127 performing at the MTV EMAs. This year, we saw even more recognition for KPOP. While we didn’t get a performance this time around (boo!) we did see the likes of BLACKPINK being nominated, BTS winning four out of five of their nominations and Stray Kids winning Best Korean Act! We’re so stoked to see the rise of KPOP in Europe and hope to see even more next year.
Little Mix’s double duty
Little Mix did quite an incredible job of hosting the show. They served us fierce looks and kept us entertained. Not only that, but they also performed their latest single ‘Sweet Melody’ and it was everything. Our only wish was our girlie Jesy was there, but we are anticipating even more for her return and to see the quartet come for our wigs soon.
Zara Larsson closing the show
One of the biggest European pop acts we are all loving is Zara Larsson and she truly closed the show in style. Performing her single ‘Wow,’ the Swedish sweetheart truly gave it her all with the big production, choreography, and lewks for days. What a queen!
