The Honey Pop’s Official Streaming Guide For Holiday Films & Specials

Ditch the holiday decorating and cuddle up on the couch with a warm cup of hot chocolate because the holidays have officially invaded Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+! It’s been a long year, but the ending is in sight, so now it’s time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year! But wait, what should you watch first?

Well you’ve come to the right place because we have handpicked the best and brightest shows and movies to watch on all of our favorite streaming services. Whether it’s a family-friendly movie, a romantic comedy, or even a Christmas classic, we’ve got you covered!

Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime is the place to go if you’re looking to stream one of the certified Christmas classics that we all love to watch over and over again. While there are tons of Christmas classics to choose from, these are our top three that you can find on Amazon Prime free of charge if you have a Prime account:

The Polar Express

Home Alone

Christmas Vacation

Apple TV+

Though Apple TV+ is the youngest streaming service to join the pack, it has managed to land a very important holiday special that is a must watch every season!

A Charlie Brown Christmas

The holiday season always brings about its own special kind of magic, but when you pair it with Disney magic, it becomes even more magical! From our favorite holiday themed episodes of Disney Channel shows and The Simpsons to classic Disney movies, Disney+ has it all. They also have a few surprises up their sleeve!

Here are our top three Disney+ picks to watch this holiday season:

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Holiday Special

It’s been awhile since we’ve been at our favorite high school East High, but it looks like we’ll be returning sooner than we thought! Tune in to Disney+ on December 11th for the premiere of the brand new holiday special of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which will also feature a special look at season 2!

Lego Star Wars Holiday Special

While the last Star Wars holiday special might not have been the greatest, we have high hopes that this Lego holiday version is going to bring our favorite holiday cheer to the galaxy far far away.

Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic

For the Disney fans who are desperately missing the parks, especially during the most magical time of the year, we highly recommend watching (or re-watching) the Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic special. Who knows, maybe you’ll get some inspiration for your own holiday decorations!

If Hulu is your streaming service of choice, you’re in luck because they have some pretty amazing holiday things lined-up for you. From Christmas classics like Elf to new films that are certain to be on their way to being classics. Here are our top 3 Hulu Holiday picks:

Happiest Season

Happiest Seasons tells the story of a young lesbian couple who must pretend to be just friends when they visit one of the girl’s conservative parents. The film is sure to make us laugh and cry, and it stars an epic line up of talent with actors such as Kristen Stewart and Dan Levy.

Last Christmas

In case you didn’t get a chance to see Last Christmas in theaters last year, you’re in luck because the romantic comedy is streaming on Hulu this holiday season. Trust us, you don’t want to skip this one.

Last but certainly not least, Netflix has once again created a plethora of holiday content for us to indulge in during this holiday season. While there are several dozen new titles to choose from, we’ve done the hard work of narrowing it down to three holiday themed things to stream this year.

Dash & Lily’s Book Of Dares

Inspired by the best-selling young adult novel, Dash & Lily drops on November 10th and is certainly going to be the show everyone binges this holiday season. Plus, it features the Jonas Brothers performing their brand new Christmas song, which gives us an extra reason to watch!

The Princess Switch: Switched Again

Ever since we fell in love with Vanessa Hudgens in The Princess Switch a couple years ago, we’ve been dying to revisit her world. Luckily, we won’t have to wait anymore! The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again starts streaming on November 19th.

The Holiday Movies That Made Us

Finally, we think it’s worth checking out the docu-series The Holiday Movies That Made Us. The series takes us to a behind-the-scenes look of all our favorite holiday movies, uncovering some pretty awesome facts about the making of the films.

It may not be Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas countdown, but we think our official guide to holiday movies and specials to stream is fool proof. What are you waiting for? Change into those pajamas and grab a hot cup of chocolate because you’ve got some streaming to do!

So, what will you be watching? Did we leave anything out that we shouldn’t have? Let us know in the comments below or by tweeting us @TheHoneyPOP!
