Last night saw Dua Lipa host her “multi-dimensional live experience” Studio 2054. Named after the iconic New York nightclub, the pop star took to London’s ‘groundbreaking and multipurpose’ music venue, Printworks, to deliver the musical extravaganza.
Over the past few months, we have witnessed an influx of virtual concerts from some of our favorite musical artists. While they have arguably kept us fans engaged, ultimately, they could never match the excitement of being at a gig in person. Or so, we thought.
The show was unlike anything we had seen before and reminded us of a feel-good underground rave in a 1980s Top Of The Pops style setting, with a combination of musical performance, dance, and immersive experiences. Even though we all watched from home, Dua most certainly transported us to a world of disco.
Thank you 2 everyone who watched the FIRST STREAM!!! I hope you all love this as much as we have loved making this for you. Blood, sweat, bruises but most importantly all the love in the world has been put into this performance! pic.twitter.com/JLhEjw7nsL

The highlight was, of course, finally getting to see her perform Future Nostalgia tracks, and we received nothing but A+ performances of bops, including ‘Love Again’ and ‘Hallucinate,’ which was a real stand-out moment. The live show hosted guests galore with the likes of Kylie Minogue and Elton John making an appearance, alongside FKA Twigs, who danced to a snippet of the pair’s upcoming collab.

We’ve got to give it up for Dua because she’s served us nothing but big pop queen energy this year, and even in a pandemic, she has gone above and beyond to provide us quality content and has continued to solidify her superstar status. Artist of the year? We think so!
