Royal & The Serpent opened for Yungblud and completely blew our minds.
Trailing Wargasm, a tough act to follow – Royal & The Serpent took to the stage to prepare Boston for an undoubtedly kick ass show from Yungblud. What we didn’t know was just how much our minds would be utterly blown by Royal & The Serpent.
From the moment Royal & The Serpent took the stage, the theatrics, cinematography, and raw talent was undeniable. Opening with the song ‘Choke,’ we were fast fans. An influential, bluesy, and soulful voice singer/songwriter Ryan Santiago finds a following with a unique version of alt-electro-indie pop.
The set flourished with flawless costume changes and momentum that increased with each and every song. Tracks like ‘Warn You’ and fame finding TikTok viral piece ‘Overwhelmed’ adorned the setlist.
Relatable music with influences of early rock icons like Stevie Nicks and Janice Joplin, we absolutely worship the developing sounds of this influential artistry.
A taste of the new music was the song ‘Bad Kids’ featuring Yoshi Flower which was also a part of the performance. Rounding it out to be flawless, we’re crawling in our skin as we wait for its release on Friday. A tune we’re sure to have on loop for quite some time.
While the spicy sounds brought us in, the theatrical production itself is what got us to stay. The lighting, movement, quality, and overall production are incorporated entirely into the sound and image they are effortlessly portraying.
We know how meticulous Yungblud can be and are confident that this opener is brought on for a vast amount of reasons. Being able to hold their own on stage before showstopper Dom, as well as being riddled with talent and presentation that is uncanny, might have a little to do with it.
