CHIKA Sets Things Straight On ‘FWB’

CHIKA has been one of this year’s breakout stars, with her debut project Industry Games putting her on the radar of music listeners. The 23-year-old Alabama singer/rapper has just scooped a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and has big goals in sight, telling fans that she wants to be the artist of her generation.

There is absolutely no doubt that CHIKA is going to make a real mark in the industry. Yet, again she has shown her potential with her slow and sensual new single ‘FWB.’ The track sees the singer pine for physical affection with lyrics including: “I don’t want your love, I just need your touch/Yeah, I wanna feel but I ain’t trying to trust.”

This new track showcases another side of the musical chameleon that is CHIKA, and we cannot wait to see her flourish in 2021 – with a new project slated for release at the top of the year.

We’d recommend checking out CHIKA’s superb Industry Games released through Warner Records. The critically acclaimed EP has received praise across the board, with UPROXX stating that the release “packs as much confidence, creativity, emotion, lyricism, and spirituality as many full-length projects.”

In a revealing interview with music publication Rolling Stone she described the record as a reflection of her 2019. She said, “It’s called Industry Games because I don’t want to play them” before adding, “It’s my evolution story. It’s like an inside look into who I am.”
