Kid Cudi Flys High With Man On The Moon III

Kid Cudi Man On The Moon III

It’s been years since we last heard about Kid Cudi’s Man On The Moon franchise. Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was released in 2010, and since then, it has been on pause. It wasn’t until now, a decade later, that we finally received the final chapter. Man On The Moon III: The Chosen was released on December 11th, 2020 via Republic Records. It is the official return of the man on the moon that we love so much. This marks Cudi’s seventh full-length studio album as well.

Just like the other albums in the trilogy, the album is simply iconic. The smooth transitions between the songs paired with the synths and natural beats help keep the momentum of Mr. Rager. The 18-tracked album features amazing artists such as Pop Smoke, Skepta, Phoebe Bridgers, and Trippie Redd. Honestly, this beautiful album is the perfect way for every Kid Cudi fan to end the gruesome year of 2020.

Alongside the release of the highly anticipated album, Cudi dropped the music videos for ‘She Knows This’ and ‘Heaven on Earth’ which is a two-part narrative short film that includes music from the album. Both videos were directed by famous Nabil Elderkin, an Australian-American music video producer (Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Will Smith, and Dua Lipa). A story of Kid Cudi himself, the music video goes in-depth about his struggles and his strengths that show fans a new side of him. Although some fans knew, including us, the video allows us to see his revelations and road to recovery.

Man On The Moon III: The Chosen debuted number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album charts, as well as debuted number one on the Apple music charts. Lastly, the album also charted number two on the Billboard 200 charts, which ties with his previous albums Indicud and KIDS SEE GHOST as the highest debut. We’re incredibly proud of him with these chart-topping numbers that also include numerous firsts for him.

In addition to the album release, Cudi recently co-founded his own production and music management company, which he titled Mad Solar. The company is backed by the legendary Bron that will take Cudi’s artistry to new heights.

Now that our man on the moon has returned, we can’t wait to see what the GRAMMY® nominated artist has in store for fans. In Cudi fashion, the artist ended Man On The Moon III with an eerie message of “To be continued..” We’re hoping for a MOTM tour once COVID settles and allows us get back to shows.
