We’ve all had our emo phase and maybe if you’re like us you’re still in it! So many of our favorite celebrities have gone through different “emo” phases throughout their careers, but Taylor Swift takes the cake. From collaborations with some pop-punk icons to having her own edgier, more “emo” era. She even looked the part on an episode of CSI.
We are here and ready to talk all things “emo” Taylor Swift!
Her Victoria Secret Collab With Fall Out Boy
Taylor’s voice was made to carry a song like ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark.’ She can belt like it’s nobody’s business and this performance is one of the best examples of that. Anyone who knows anything about the pop-punk scene knows how huge Fall Out Boy is. So from us fellow emo kids and Swifties it was a match made in musical heaven.
Her Collaboration With Boys Like Girls
Now unlike with Fall Out Boy, Taylor has a song out with Boys Like Girls! It’s called ‘Two Is Better Than One’ and was the soundtrack to our teen years. This song is everything you’d want out of a collaboration, and Taylor’s voice is so soft and beautiful. It’s one of the cutesy pop-punk love songs that we’ve come to obsess over.
Her Episode of CSI
In 2009 Taylor played a rebellious teenager named Haley Jones, and it was everything to us. In the episode, Taylor has dark hair and piercings and plays a dead girl? It’s a truly Oscar-worthy performance. Taylor has an obsession with crime shows, as we all do, so we know she loved getting to play Haley.
Her Reputation Era
Undoubtedly without being Avril Lavigne type “emo” Reputation was Taylor’s “emo” era. The theme was a lot of black clothes and a lot of angst! After disappearing for months on end Taylor came back ready for vengeance. This album was a complete serve. The songs range from angry and heavy to light and airy and it is a pure masterpiece. Period. Songs like ‘…Ready For It?’ and ‘I Did Something Bad’ are two of the best examples of this edgier emo sound on this record.
We can only hope for a full pop-punk Taylor Swift project in the future. It would break the internet and show that truly, Taylor Swift is the music industry. Here at The Honey POP, we love Taylor Swift! We have covered so much Taylor content so if you want to keep reading more about her click here!
