In 2020, BLACKPINK gave us bass-booming title tracks, amazing collabs, and different ways to connect with them emotionally. The quartet remained high on the charts and slaying at every single performance they have had. Jisoo, Rose, Lisa, and Jennie have all shown that they are truly star material and will only grow from where they are.
However, 2020 has also been the year of setbacks which it has done more than we would like to admit. BLACKPINK was supposed to have their highly anticipated global livestream experience called THE SHOW on December 27th but the rising number of COVID-19 cases in South Korea forced the group to postpone the show to January 31st, 2021 at 12 AM EST / 2 PM KST. Of course, we’re bummed out by the news of the postponement so we decided to make a list of three shows that you should watch (and probably rewatch) while we await BLACKPINK’s THE SHOW.
BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky
At the top of our list, we’re including BLACKPINK’s newest Netflix documentary, Light Up The Sky. The candid and revealing interviews explain the struggles that the girls each had and continue to have while being global pop-stars. It also gives us a small glimpse into their lives at YG Entertainment and as idols. You can watch the documentary on Netflix here.
24/365 with BLACKPINK
Next, is BLACKPINK’s reality show that came out earlier this year called 24/365 with BLACKPINK. This show was more on the fun side and broke down the girls’ personalities based on their interests as well as their interests as a group. We loved that we got to see the fun side of BLACKPINK and find out more things about them that we never knew! It’s a more relaxed and refreshing way to view BLACKPINK. You can watch the show on YouTube here.
Of course, we had to include BLACKPINK Diaries. The YouTube and VLive show gives us full behind the scenes of their 2019 World Tour. It follows BLACKPINK throughout their shows and their activities that occurred behind the late-night shows. It’s interesting to see what the girls were doing with their day while you were lined up and waiting to be let in through the concert doors. You can watch the series on YouTube here.
Of course, this makes us miss shows and the girls a lot but we’re happy with this until it’s time for the concert! If you weren’t able to snag a ticket for THE SHOW then, you can sure snag one now. You can buy access to THE SHOW via BLACKPINK’s membership offer page here.
