Bailey is an artist we became obsessed with in 2020! Her song ‘Roster’ really kicked off this journey of us stanning. We waited anxiously to see what 2021 would bring us, and now it’s here! She released her newest single ‘Sober’ earlier this month, and it is such a smash.
We love when you can tell an artist is writing from a place of vulnerability. It always adds something to the track that is almost intangible. The lyrics Bailey wrote come from a place that so many of us can relate to, that drunken hookup.
The line “promise me when it’s over you’ll think of me when you’re sober,” hit us like a ton of bricks. There’s something so exciting and almost coming of age Movie-Esque about those drunken rendezvous. And then, when the magic is gone, and you wake up, you have to think about the fact that the person might not even remember, let alone want it to happen again. It’s something we haven’t heard put into a song, and of course, Bailey does it perfectly.
Another line we’ve been obsessing over is “Like I know I’m really not ready now to meet my last
But you could be my last.” That feeling of getting caught off guard by feeling is like being hit by a wave. Meeting someone that you feel could be the one to tear down all your walls is both terrifying and exciting.
Bailey is currently releasing what she calls the ‘Fresh music project,’ containing nine songs, of which ‘Sober’ falls at number two! And she’s doing a monthly Instagram live series, fresh start stories; her first episode is live on her page right now! We’re so excited to see what Bailey puts out through the rest of the year! We are ready for the whole world to jump on this train of rooting for her!
