Few things in life are better than good ol’ rock ‘n roll. There’s just something about rock ‘n roll bangers that are sure to improve your day. The Pretty Reckless know all about rock ‘n roll bangers. Their last single, ‘Death By Rock And Roll,’ was an absolute hit. It was their first release since 2016, getting us all hyped up for what was coming next and the band’s new era. Well, what came next is ‘And So It Went.’ Of course, we expected nothing less than the badassery that we got from this track.
The world does not belong to you
You are not the king, I am not the fool
Rock and roll icon Tom Morello hopped on the guitar for this track, elevating its status as a certified hit even further. Taylor Momsen, frontwoman of The Pretty Reckless, said that ‘And So It Went’ is the result of the world around us and the civil unrest that we’ve found ourselves in. This track is her way of communicating what she sees happening in the world. Using the voices of children at the end of a song that mentions children fighting back and reclaiming their world is an incredibly poetic choice. This song is a powerful reflection of the state of the world today. Talk about a rock and roll hit.
‘Death By Rock And Roll’ and ‘And So It Went’ are the first releases leading up to the band’s upcoming album, Death By Rock And Roll. The album doesn’t drop until February 12th, but you can pre-save it and hope the anticipation isn’t too much to handle! Who needs a valentine when you’re getting new music?
