Everything about the stripped back version of this song is stunning. The premise that “maybe fake love is better than feeling lonely” is so heartbreaking yet relatable. We have all had those moments where we just simply don’t want to be alone and can completely feel Olivia on this one.

As always the lyrics are stellar. ‘Tell me pretty lies, tell me I’m the only. Even if you don’t mean it, touchin’ you is holy” is an insane line, and puts Olivia in some incredible company with her writing abilities. After listening to so much of Olivia’s music it’s clear she makes music for us in our sad feels, and we are thankful for that.

It’s set in a different time period and is in black and white and we feel like we are watching Audrey Hepburn if she was a pop girl in 2021. Videos that are set up like movies just hit differently.

Whatever Olivia is up to next we will be here patiently waiting.
