A Little Storm Doesn’t Bother Sabrina Carpenter, The ‘Skin’ Music Video Is Proof

Sabrina Carpenter has been generating a lot of buzz with her new track ‘Skin.’ If you’re a stan, it’s your lucky day because the song’s music video just dropped, and we’re obsessed. Gavin Leatherwood, who you might recognize from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, stars opposite Sabrina Carpenter in the ‘Skin’ music video.

In the video, we see Sabrina and Gavin sharing some tender, loving moments inside a home. Outside, a storm rages on. Snow and rain start falling inside the house, and the room shakes while Sabrina and Gavin are seated at the dinner table. None of this seems to bother them. They’re perfectly content being wrapped up in each other. Nothing is getting under their skin 😉

Coupled with the lyrics, the ‘Skin’ music video creates a thought-provoking narrative. It’s no secret that Sabrina has been the center of a lot of drama lately. With this music video, she shows the world that as long as she has the people she loves around her, she can face any storm coming her way. Even the lyrics drive this point home:

‘I wish you knew that even you
Can’t get under my skin
If I don’t let you in’

Prior to the release of the ‘Skin’ music video, Sabrina took to Instagram, clearing up some misconceptions about the meaning behind ‘Skin.’ She said that the song resulted from countless different reasons, and she decided to cope with those reasons by writing about her experiences. One line that stands out from this post is, “people can only get to you if you give them the power to. and a lot of people were trying to get to me.” In our humble opinion, this drives the point of ‘Skin’ home. If you don’t let people get to you, you take that power away from them. They can’t get under your skin if you don’t let them.
