Hayley Williams is back with a surprise new album! It’s called FLOWERS for VASES / descansos, and we are incredibly stoked about the new music. The album follows her 2020 releases, Petals For Armor: Self-Serenades, and critically-acclaimed album Petals for Armor.
FLOWERS for VASES / descansos
Although most might think the new album is a follow-up for her critically acclaimed album, Petals For Armor, Hayley states that it would be more of a prequel or a “detour between parts 1 and 2 [of Petals].” Each song on the album is an individual subject that Hayley has had to tackle and release, which we can all relate to. Especially after the horrid year, we have all had.
“The ways I’ve been given time (forcibly, really) to stew on certain pains long enough to understand that they, in fact, need to be released…indefinitely. I may never have been offered such a kindness; an opportunity to tend to the seeds I’d planted, to harvest, and to weed or prune what is no longer alive, in order to make space for the living.”– Hayley Williams about FLOWERS for VASES
New Career First for Hayley
Hayley was able to create a career first for herself this go around. She wrote and performed the album in its entirety! She recorded the album at her home in Nashville, where she has resided since Paramore’s After Laughter was released in 2017. As a longtime fan of Paramore and Hayley Williams, we are so proud of her and the things she has accomplished. It just goes to show that no matter how hard life is, we can get through it if we open up and stick together.
“2020 was really hard, but I’m alive and so my job is to keep living and help others to do the same.”– Hayley Williams
