Track By Track Review Of ‘brent ii’ By Jeremy Zucker And Chelsea Cutler

What do you get when you have a project with two of the most beautiful voices in music today? You get the pure excellence that is brent ii.

Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker are long time favorites of ours. When their voices combine it’s just pure soft bliss. The fact that they have an EP out together is a bit too much to handle. Obviously, the only way to deal with this is track by track!

‘this is how you fall in love’

The song ‘this is how you fall in love‘ is one we covered upon its earlier release and automatically fell in love with. It’s one of the most soothing songs we’ve ever heard. It’s the obvious perfect track to open the brent ii EP! We could, and probably will, sit and listen to this song on repeat forever and just feel complete and utter peace. No two people’s voices blend this beautiful. Also, yes this song makes us feel very lonely but it’s fine we’re fine!

‘parent song’

The second track off brent ii has us wanting to hug our parents extra tight. What a beautiful tribute to the people who gave you life. Maybe we cried. So what. It’s so easy to lose yourself in a song this incredible especially with how soft the voices are on this track. And don’t get us started on the lyrics. “So you might have to see me less, but it’s nice to have somebody to miss,” tore us apart. Even if your parents are around all the time, just imagining missing them can bring a tear to your eye.

Okay, the brent ii EP is officially our comfort music. We are trying to figure out if music gets better than this song. We have never had our hearts broken by a girl named Emily, however, we are crying like we have. These lyrics are just unreal.” In the heat of it all, I made an enemy,” is such an honest reflection of going through hardships with someone. Also, are we picking up some Emily in Paris references?

‘brooklyn boy’

I’m sick of misery and wine” is the ultimate 2020-2021 mood. This brent ii EP just keeps getting better. This song just features Jeremy and you’re really able to hear what an unreal vocalist he is. He has the smoothest voice and sings with such passion and emotion. The outro to this song is insane! We got actual goosebumps. Jeremy Zucker should be on everyone’s radar.

‘the stars’

To round out this brent ii EP, we have a solo Chelsea Cutler song. What a perfect ending to a perfect project. This song reflects on the stars perfectly aligning and are manifesting this energy all of 2021. It’s simply beautiful; the instrumentals, the angelic voice, and the beautiful lyricism. We couldn’t have pictured a more incredible way to end one of our favorite bodies of work of the new year.
