Just when we thought LANY couldn’t hit us in the feels any harder and their album Mama’s Boy couldn’t get any better, they go and drop three new stripped versions of some of our fave songs on the album.
If you remember, LANY dropped Mama’s Boy back in October, and we’ve had it on repeat ever since. We’ve never heard an album have such raw, emotional lyrics or mesmerizing, piercing vocals as this one (besides their album Malibu Nights, we’re still crying over that one). But now, with the release of these three stripped-down songs, we are putty of tears, sadness, and love for these stunning works of art all in one on the shower floor.
These guys aim to give fans not only unbelievable music but a full musical experience. Anyway, let us collect ourselves, and we can talk about the three new stripped versions and what we like about each of them! So, whenever you’re ready – let’s go!
We adore this song, and we thought we’d never be able to love it more than we already do. But this stripped version had us crying in a bubble bath over a kind of deep, heartbreak we’ve personally experienced, but to be honest, we didn’t mind and will continue to stream until our heart’s content.
‘i still talk to jesus’
This song is perfect no matter the version you listen to, but this new live, stripped version just hits the feels on a whole other level. A perfectly heart-wrenching rendition of what we feel is one of the most emotionally raw and intimate songs, lyrically, off of the Mama’s Boy album, and we will never get tired of it.
‘heart won’t let me’
Ready for your ears to be blessed? Then this song is perfect for you. The vocals are so intoxicating, the melodies breathtaking, and the lyrics hit you right in the feels. Overall, it’s a masterpiece meant to be admired for years to come. *chefs kiss*
