To say that I’m honoured to record a song with pop icons STEPS is the understatement of the year. With the state of the world today, we all need music that makes us feel good and trust me when I tell you, Heartbreak In This City is an absolute BOP! After years of dreaming about it, for at least a moment in time, I can officially be “Michelle from Steps”! CAN SOMEONE PINCH ME PLEASE? I hope everyone loves listening to it as much as I loved recording it!
We couldn’t agree more Michelle! Music can spread so much positivity, and the world could do with as much of that as possible right now!
And yes, your besties here at The Honey POP, promise to only refer to you as Michelle from Steps from now on!
Michelle Visage, who is simultaneously appearing on BBC 3’s Drag Race UK Season 2, and Netflix’s Drag Race US Season 13, while filming Season 1 of Drag Race Australia; joins Claire, Faye, Lee, Lisa, and H, to feature on the track; and honestly, it’s the collab we never knew we needed, and now we don’t know how we’ve managed without it!
The album What The Future Holds had one of the best album merch collections we’ve seen in a while, which you can find here. So with the bar set so high for merch, we’d like to confirm, that this is our official request for Steps and Michelle Visage collab merch, please? Take our money.
‘Heartbreak In This City’ has been the clear fan favorite from the latest album, which went silver within the first month of its release and was the most downloaded album in the UK over the Christmas period! It also saw the band reunite with songwriter Karl Twigg for the first time in nearly a decade, and we’re feeling nostalgic! Karl wrote some of The Honey POP’s best-loved Steps anthems, ‘One For Sorrow,’ Deeper Shade of Blue’ and ‘Stomp.’
Excuse us? Who do we have to bake cookies for, to get on Faye and Michelle’s Whatsapp group, please? The absolute serotonin that this is giving us all at The Honey POP. Do Faye and Michelle send each other memes? We need to know… (starts baking cookies).
