Setting records? The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ is already at it! Spending a whole year on Billboard Top 100? The Toronto R&B and pop singer took the world by surprise with ‘Blinding Lights’ claiming a spot on the charts for 52 weeks!

We couldn’t be prouder! It’s a historic achievement for The Weeknd. Fifty-two whole weeks on the biggest chart in the United States, while also being praised by the industry, ‘Blinding Lights’ is sitting in Billboards Top 10 for the top 100 tracks. Billboard started to compile the best record sales back in 1958 and this incredible success comes out on top! Who would have known that an artist of our current days would reach this historic milestone?
The supersonic and addictive retro vibes of ‘Blinding Lights’ are the best source of entertainment these days. It’s not only a pure fire bop, it’s a masterpiece! Apart from appearing on Billboard charts, it also gained many other honors like the IFPI Global Digital Single Award. It was also recognized as the most streamed and digital units sold for a single song across the world!
Single of the year!
This week, the Juno Awards organization in Canada announced its sets of nominations. And guess what? Our local pop R&B king smashes it again! ‘Blinding Lights’ is listed as a favorite for ‘single of the year,’ along with the album After Hours. The Weeknd is also nominated as Fan Choice Artist and Artist Of The Year. More details on the show which will be broadcasted on CBC on May 16th, can be found here. The Weeknd‘s success is huge. His fourth album After Hours soured in the US, scoring a well-deserved double platinum record from the RIAA.
