Holding Absence Runs Around ‘In Circles’ On New Song

Time for big rock sounds! Cardiff’s Holding Absence is back with new material. First, a new single ‘In Circles’ out now and, second, a new full-length record on the way titled The Biggest Mistake Of My Life. But, releasing a new album is not out of step for the band, but it is making us that much more of a fan!

The aftermath of life

We learn to live with many torments in these difficult times. From telling stories about what happens in the ‘Afterlife’ to overcoming depression and mental health struggles on ‘Beyond Belief’, the first two singles from the forthcoming album The Biggest Mistake Of My Life, Holding Absence offers a diverse palette of sound.

‘In Circles’ feels like a beautiful anthem, it’s a promise! Along with the creative mastermind from producer Dan Weller, the melody is massive! He previously worked on Enter Shikari’s A Flash Flood In Colour, some Gallows noises, and Kids In Glass House bops. Be loud!

A melodic metaphor

Are we butterflies? That’s kinda the metaphoric line about ‘In Circles.’ The visuals from Holding Absence keep intriguing us, illustrating the contrast from sunshine to darkness. Singer Lucas Woodland walking on the road in between the highs and lows of humanity. “I live my life inside of this cocoon/ Just like a flower too afraid to bloom,” he serenades. Life is like a cycle of events that comes and goes all over again.
