Girl group Nasty Cherry dropped their new single ‘Her Body‘ as the countdown for their upcoming EP The Movie intensifies. Co-written by Charli XCX, who founded the group, and Yves Rothman, ‘Her Body’ comes as the second single from the anticipated EP that drops April 2nd. Following the release of their track ‘Lucky,’ Nasty Cherry continues to deliver instant hits, along with groovy visuals, oozing with confidence in their music videos.
Immediately upon listening to ‘Her Body,’ fans can hear the workings of Charli XCX within the song and what she does best. The track begins with breathy, sensual vocals as the beat increases. Full of catchy promises and questions, the song coasts on an 80s synth-pop beat. The lyrics playfully yet tauntingly teases, as the chorus says, “I’ma be better in bed/ She lays with the dead/ I’ll be better than that/ And I’ll ride with you ’till the end.”
‘Her Body’ perfectly encapsulates the cool-girl, confident vibe, and we here at The Honey POP have no choice but to stan! Don’t forget to add the song to your playlist (and you can check out more playlist recommendations here)!
The video, directed by Dana Boulos, gives viewers a front seat as Nasty Cherry sings and dances on stage while sporting leather and lingerie. Filled with stage lights and neon hues, the vocals blast, “Chose her over me, surprise/ How’s it feel to waste my time?/ Breaking hearts and crossing lines/ Your solo cup was full of lies.” The lyrics perfectly pairs with the blurred visuals of the video as the gang performs teasingly.
And don’t forget! The Movie drops April 2nd via Vroom Vroom Recordings. We can’t wait!
