Sleeping With Sirens Takes On Paradise City

Sleeping With Sirens Takes On Paradise City

We’re long-time stans of Sleeping With Sirens, and we’re pretty sure we’ve only mentioned that about 12,000 times, but how could we not talk about one of our all-time favorite bands!? They’ve been blessing us with sweet, sweet content since 2009, and now, over a decade later they continue to keep us fed!

Seriously, just this week they’ve released two new songs- well, two new covers we should say- that will feature on the soundtrack for the new Amazon Prime series Paradise City, which is set to premiere March 25th. Sleeping With Sirens covered two classics for the soundtrack– ‘No Rain’ by Blind Melon and ‘Shadow Preachers’ by Zella Day. These covers are so different sonically from what we are used to hearing from the band, but we gotta say, we love that they aren’t afraid to experiment with sounds and don’t put themselves in a box! Plus, they nail it, but we never doubted them for a second. Oh, and that’s not even the best part! Kellin Quinn (you know the band’s frontman and our Man Crush Monday every day) is also set to star in the series as the character named Ralphie in the upcoming series. This will be his official non-music video acting debut, and we know he’s going to smash it. Essentially, WE ARE SO HYPED, and we need to shout about it!

Aside from Kellin, the show will also bring together some other unbelievable talents, including Bella Thorne, Andy Biersack, the late Cameron Boyce (RIP you beautiful human), Booboo Stewart, Olivia Culpo, Drea de Matteo, Perrey Reeves, Fairuza Balk, Ben Bruce, Mark Boone Junior, Brittany Furlan, Natalie Eva Marie, Amanda Steele, and producer/rapper Hopsin. You know what that means- we are in for a real treat! The plot of the series is that the show is “set in Los Angeles and it chronicles the lives of rock star and frontman of The Relentless, Johnny Faust, and a young rookie kid, Simon, who idolizes him as they collide through their broken homes built by the music business. The series was created by Ash Avildsen (Hit Parader/Sumerian Films), son of Academy Award winner John Avildsen (Rocky, The Karate Kid), and is loosely based on his own life and estranged relationship with his father.” That honestly sounds so fascinating, and we are very intrigued, especially after watching the trailer! Holy cow!

Check out the trailer below!

We are hooked on this series already, and it hasn’t even started yet! Now back to those outstanding covers we mentioned! They are not only emotional but seemingly the perfect songs to add to the series soundtrack, and you can check them out below or stream them here and here!

‘No Rain’

‘Shadow Preachers’

They sure know how to deliver some dope AF covers (remember their cover of ‘Iris’ by the GooGoo Dolls?), and anything they touch turns to gold! We can vouch for this as Kellin has been featuring on some killer tracks over the last year, and we’re pretty convinced he’s Superman, or at the very least superhuman in some way or another. Seriously, Kell, can you LET US BREATHE FOR FIVE DAMN MINUTES!?

Anyway, we are pretty excited about this new series, and we hope you are just as excited as we are! What are your thoughts on the new covers? Are you stoked about this new Amazon Prime series?
