Audrey Mika is a favorite of The Honey POP. We even got to interview her not too long ago, so be sure to check that out! She’s this incredible pop artist that we think deserves to be sitting right up there with the likes of Ariana Grande. She won us over with her track ‘Excuses,‘ and with the incredible concept for the music video that went along with that track. We’re certainly suckers for good visuals.
Finding female artists to stan is a hobby at this point. We simply can’t get enough new music in our lives from these badass women dominating the industry.
Audrey Mika just released her track ‘Chivalry’ and wow. It’s hard to put into words how much we adore this track but since this is a written article we will of course try! Firstly you have those insane vocals we’ve always been so impressed with from Audrey Mika. The notes she hits are just otherworldly. Specifically, we have to give the biggest shout-out to around the 1:10 mark in the song. That high voice is heavenly.
It’s such an incredible gift to have a voice like Audrey Mika. It’s rare and we are so overjoyed we get to be here to witness it. The comparisons we’ve made to Ariana Grande come from our hearts, as we are huge Ariana stans. It’s those whistle tones that really bring the two together for us.
The message of this song is exactly what we like to hear. It’s important for women to get the message out there that gender roles ultimately mean nothing. It’s an empowering anthem that we will be learning every word to and screaming them into the mirror immediately. Since March is Women’s History month this song just fits in with that perfectly. It’s of course the energy that should be brought year-round but highlighting it this month just feels right.
After all that we’ve heard from Audrey Mika so far, we truly can’t wait to hear even more music from her over the next year. Personally, we are hoping for a full-length album since we haven’t gotten one since her 2019 release Level Up. This is just a little PSA but if you haven’t heard the song ‘Freestyle Like Jhene Aiko But Def Not As Good’ from that record please check it out. You’re welcome in advance.
