Hello Millennials, Colourpop is Bringing Lizzie McGuire Back!

Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie. Every millennial’s childhood best friend. She was the awkward, relatable, and self-assured middle schooler that was the voice for every kid and tween that grew up in the early 2000s. Since Colourpop is bringing us back to our tween years with their new Lizzie McGuire makeup collection, out on March 26, 2021, we decided it was time for us to go reminisce and look back at our top five favorite moments from the series.

Lizzie Demanding a Bra

The entire premise of Lizzie McGuire was to showcase the awkward moments of puberty with funny one-liners, relatable thoughts, and follow Lizzie around as she navigates middle school. One of our absolute favorite moments from the Lizzie McGuire series was when Lizzie shouted “I want a bra!” at her mom in the middle of a store. This embodied the premise of the show and we all felt Lizzie’s pain and embarrassment as that is exactly how we were feeling at that time.

When Matt Met Melina

Our second favorite scene in Lizzie McGuire was when Matt met Melina. Matt had always been the annoying younger brother of Lizzie and the mastermind behind all of the pranks. But when Matt met Melina that all changed. Though they started out as rivals, that rivalry eventually turned into comradery and they became friends, even though Melina would frequently outsmart Matt.

The Kiss Between Lizzie and Aaron Carter

The scene that rocked every pre-teen’s world back in the early 2000s was when Aaron Carter and Lizzie kissed. Lizzie had snuck onto the pop star’s Christmas music video shoot and just so happened to run into him by his trailer. With the mistletoe hanging above the door, Aaron Carter leaned in for a kiss after uttering the line that every millennial girl knows, “Merry Christmas, Lizzie McGuire.” Our hearts still swoon over that scene.

When Lizzie Spread A Rumor About Kate

Now we couldn’t go on without mentioning the first episode of the entire series. Lizzie created a rumor that Kate had only made the cheerleading squad because she stuffed her bra. After the rumor spread, Kate retaliated by getting the entire squad to call Lizzie a loser in one of their cheers. Thankfully, Lizzie survived and recovered from the social attack, and this episode sets up the conflict between Lizzie and Kate that would define the rest of the series.

The Iconic Lizzie and Gordo Kiss!

In the end, one of the most iconic scenes in Lizzie McGuire history was when Lizzie and Gordo kissed at the end of The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Fans had been shipping the two best friends together since the very beginning and this moment was what every fan was waiting for. Our hearts melted when they finally shared a kiss and we couldn’t have asked for a better ending for the Lizzie McGuire series.

Now that we’ve shared our favorite moments from the Lizzie McGuire series, we are feeling super nostalgic and will be going straight to Disney+ to rewatch and relive it all. And we are looking forward to getting our hands on the makeup collection that Colourpop will be releasing at the end of this week.
