Obi-Wan Kenobi: Production Is Underway And We’re Ready For Whatever Is Coming!

Everyone’s favorite Jedi Master is returning to our screens! Ewan McGregor reprised his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi who trained Anakin Skywalker (aka Darth Vader) for a special event series. Star Wars fans have been buzzing about it since the special event series was announced. Production on the series begins in April, which means we now have a full cast list!

The fact that we get Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader back has us beyond excited. It’s a pretty solid cast list, and while we don’t know exactly who is who yet, we can’t wait to find out where the story takes us. Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years after Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith, so we get a look at the aftermath of the events of Mustafar and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s life during this period. Well, we already know that Darth Vader is coming back, but what else could we possibly get a glimpse of during this show? Here’s what we think (and hope for):

We get to see little Luke and possibly Leia!

Revenge of The Sith ended with the birth of Luke Skywalker and his twin sister Leia. We know that Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader, was responsible for the death of their mother and his wife Padme. To protect the children, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa took the children, separated them, and hid them away. Luke ended up with his aunt and uncle on Tatooine, while Leia ended up the princess of Alderaan. Obi-Wan Kenobi took on the name Ben Kenobi, hiding out for many years on Tatooine, and ended up helping Luke in his journey. So, we may catch a glimpse of 10-year-old Luke Skywalker with Obi-Wan Kenobi keeping an eye on him! Leia is on Alderaan, so it’s less likely we see her. But, hey, you never know with Star Wars!

Seeing some of the clones would be a dream come true!

This one is more of a fan theory without much confirmation. Fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars quickly grew attached to the relationship between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and their clone troopers. So, of course, Order 66 left many fans wondering what happened to some of those relationships in the aftermath. Did Obi-Wan Kenobi’s clone commander lead the hunt to find him? Are they still searching for him ten years later since Order 66 meant taking out all Jedi? Will we be seeing some of these characters make an appearance on Obi-Wan Kenobi? More importantly, will we be able to handle the emotional weight behind a scene like that? Important questions are being asked here.

We have a feeling those questions are more likely to be answered in Star WarsThe Bad Batch, which focuses on some of the clones after Order 66. However, it’s still fun to speculate and imagine what a confrontation between Obi-Wan and his former men might look like. Regardless of which former clones we do or don’t see, there’s a strong possibility of Stormtroopers on Tatooine patrolling the planet and maybe hunting down the former Jedi Master.

Honestly, we can go on and on theorizing, but we just don’t know what to expect! There is no release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi yet, so in the meantime, all we can do is speculate! Whatever the show turns out to be, given Disney+’s track record with Star Wars shows, we’re sure it’s going to be amazing.
