April 9th has proven to be a big day for new music, but an artist that we should not ignore is Lisa Heller. We here at THP are always looking for new artists and new songs to add to our playlist and we think that Lisa Heller is someone you should check out. And the perfect place to start is with her newest release, ‘red flags.’
Lisa Heller’s track ‘red flags’ is all too relatable. In the song, Lisa points out that she has “red flags,” as does everyone else. It’s a song about owning your flaws and embracing them, which Lisa does with the lyrics, “Don’t pretend I’m the only one with red flags, you’ve got them too.” It’s telling the listener to look at their own flaws and let them know they aren’t anything to be ashamed of. Everyone has flaws, but what matters is that we own up to them.
We also have to point out how captivating Lisa’s vocals and instrumental in the song is. With a slight raspy new to her vocals and the piano’s slow build-up that leads to a full-on band, Lisa instantly sucked us into the song and kept us listening.
‘red flags’ is the first single off of Lisa’s EP Is Anyone Listening?, which is set to release later this year during the summer! After hearing ‘red flags,’ we can’t wait to hear what the rest of the songs on the EP will sound like. Very few artists can craft songs that we can relate to, songs that are so spot on to how we are feeling. But Lisa Heller seems to be one of those artists that can tap into these emotions and shows them honestly and authentically. Because of this, we know that her EP will be one of her best yet. Be on the lookout for more!
