SHINee is one of those K-POP groups that leaves a lasting impression from the first time you listen to them to the millionth time. They have so much talent built up inside them, and it is beyond magical watching them perform, listening to them sing, and watching them dance. SHINee are:

•Onew

•Jonghyun

•Key

•Minho

•Taemin

If you are new to SHINee, welcome and strap in because you are in for a real treat! With multiple upon multiple albums in Korean and Japanese, it can be overwhelming to know where to start when choosing to indulge in the musical experience that is SHINee but don’t worry, your trusty friends here at THP will be your guides!

With that being said, these guys having such an extensive discography has led us to carefully hand-select the albums that depict the biggest growth and diversity among the group so that we can accurately discuss these topics throughout this article, but, trust us- the albums we’ve chosen are flawless, so if you’re ready, let’s dive in!

The SHINee World (Full-Length)

This one takes us back! The SHINee World is the first Korean album released by SHINee in 2008! It still gets us excited when we listen to it, and it houses some seriously iconic SHINee songs, such as ‘Love Like Oxygen,’ which was the album’s lead single! The groups’s vocals alone on this album are enough to hook you on these K-POP Kings but don’t worry, you’re in good hands!

Our favorite songs on this album are:

2009, Year Of Us (Mini-Album)

SHINee

This EP is legendary. Released in 2009, this masterpiece is where some of our all-time favorite SHINee songs live, and we still listen to this one rather religiously, if we’re being honest. With this EP, you get the best of both worlds- some tracks are so hot, you may need to have a fire extinguisher nearby while you listen, or your speakers may burst into flames, like ‘Ring Ding Dong,’ but on the flip side you get some slowed down ballads that make your heart flutter, like ‘The Name (ONEW).’

Our favorite songs on this album are:

Hello (Lucifer Repackage With Bonus Tracks)

SHINee

Hello was released in 2010 and is a repackage of the group’s second full-length album Lucifer, and we have been fully in love with it since its release. It’s full of some SHINee bops, and any time we need a little pick me up, we turn this album on and it always puts us in the best mood. It’s still a solid gold album that we treasure with all our hearts.

Our favorite songs on this album are:

Sherlock (mini-album)

Sherlock is the group’s fourth mini-album and a stunning work of art that was released in 2012, and it is filled to the brim with danceable, funky beats and is just, overall, a very inviting album. From the album’s slowest ballad to the most upbeat bops, there are no skips on the entire lineup, and that, friends, is the perfect example of absolute perfection. *chef’s kiss*

Our favorite songs on this album are:

The Misconceptions Of Us (Compilation Album)

Here we have the group’s first compilation album that is the group’s third studio album. This gem was released in 2013 and consists of two smaller creations coming together to create the ultimate, SHINee diamond. With 20 songs on this album’s lineup, there’s plenty of SHINee to go around, and boy, do we thoroughly enjoy indulging in their outstanding vocals at max volume. It’s the literal definition of music to our ears. What we’re trying to say is that we are blessed.

Our favorite songs on this album are:

Everybody (Mini-Album)

Mini-album No.5, released in 2013 and living in our minds rent-free all these years later. But how do you not walk around with SHINee stuck in your head? You can’t- it’s impossible. This mini-album has beats for days, goosebump-inducing vocals, and stellar lyrics, so if anything was going to be stuck in our heads- we’re glad it’s this one!

Our favorite songs on this album are:

Married To The Music (Odd Repackage With Bonus Tracks)

This beauty was released in 2015 and was a repackage of the group’s fifth album Odd. We adore the sound this album has and how the band added these playful elements throughout a lot of the songs- primarily, vocally. No matter how many times we’ve listened to this album, we always seem to find a new element we love about it, and that proves how exquisite Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin truly are.

Our favorite songs on this album are:

1 and 1 (Repackage Of 1 of 1)

Image Source: official album art/SM Entertainment

This album was released in 2016 and is a repackage of the group’s fourth studio album 1 of 1, and it included five additional songs. This album has some intoxicatingly beautiful songs on it as well as some mid-tempo dance tracks that we always seem to have stuck in our heads. But can you blame us? With how talented and enticing the members of SHINee are, it’s not hard to feel an attachment to them and their songs on this album, and we’re doing just fine living in a SHINee world.

Our favorite songs on this album are:

The Story Of Light: Epilogue (Compilation Album)

Image Source: official album art/SM Entertainment

This compilation album was released in 2018 and consists of a set of three EP’s compiled together to create one mega album. And mega it is! The powerhouse vocals we hear throughout every song on this album just blow us away and don’t even get us started with the funky beats and breathtaking lyrics. There’s nothing we don’t like about this album- we think it’s pretty flawlessly put together.

Our favorite songs on this album are:

Don’t Call Me (Full-Length)

SHINee’s latest release is this masterpiece album just released in February 2021. This is the group’s seventh album, and it delivers EVERYTHING our souls crave- sultry vocals, fierce beats, and hypnotic lyrics. It’s the recipe for perfection and greatness, and SHINee gave it their all. It also showcases what a glow-up their sound has taken over the last few years, and we’re kind of obsessed with it!

Our favorite songs on this album are:

There you have it, Shawols! A look back at one of KPOP’s finest acts: SHINee, and their over a decade-long career! Their talent shines bright in all that they do, and we are so proud to be a Shawol! Here’s to the future and what’s to come!
