The Subways Are Ready To ‘Fight!’

They once said we’ll be Young For Eternity! The Subways are now ready to ‘Fight’ for this world! While their fifth album is on the way, they’re keeping themselves busy. New single, a tour with fellow indie rockers, Art Brut, and the creation of a magazine, this is all we wish for!

Changing The World

The planet was shaken last year and still is with the series of unfortunate events that are social issues, politics, and the environment. Many spheres of life are impacted, and lots of bands want a change as human beings. The Subways attended many events during their three-year hiatus and took the time to reflect on sensitive matters. The duo formed by Billy Lunn and Charlotte Cooper decided to use their platforms to mobilize their fans and ally with the good causes to make a better place to live. The Black Lives Matter movement mirrors a big part of the new track, according to the guitarist.

‘Fight’ is a letter in two parts: a gesture of solidarity with the Black community and communities of color, as they face their daily oppression at the hands of systemic racism; and it’s a wake-up call to the white community that such oppressions do in fact exist, and that we must acknowledge these oppressions and fight alongside marginalized communities as allies.

For A Better Future!

"If we want a future, then wе must do what's right
If we want to live, then we have to learn to fight
Are you ready, are you willing, are you sure?
Are you steady as you stamp your feet upon the floor?"

The Subways with fierce energy on the chorus ready to battle for their convictions! The guitars clinging from everywhere, rocking all the supersonic space. We can’t get over the distorted bangs, like a cry for help and unity. ‘Fight’ 7” single release is Friday, and you don’t want to miss it! The uncommon B-Side is worth the wait! Giving their voice to British duo Nova Twins, the flip side is comprised of a discussion about representation in music, how the actors of the industry can make a change, and more. Plus, if you order the vinyl, you can get an exclusive magazine crafted by The Subways in the hope of engaging their fanbase to learn more about the marginalized communities and let the change comes gradually from level to level. Acceptance is our concern! Preorder wherever you are here! Meanwhile, listen to ‘Fight’ here.
