Daya has been a favorite of ours since the release of her hit track ‘Hide Away’. She’s been a force in the industry ever since and her latest release ‘Montana’ shows that she won’t be slowing down anytime soon!
Along with releasing her newest single Daya also announced that her EP The Difference will be ours on May 14th! That’s such exciting news and we truly can hardly wait! The EP will be six tracks and will feature both ‘Montana’ and her previously released track ‘Bad Girl‘!

With the release of ‘Montana’, it got us thinking about some of our other favorite destination songs! Songs that are focused on a place have always been some of our favorites. They make perfect soundtracks if you ever visit the place. We decided we’d compile this list of some of our absolute favorites!

‘California’ – Charlotte Cardin
Loving someone that isn’t near you is a pain that is unlike any other. In this track, Charlotte Cardin is grieving over a lover that’s in ‘California’ and paints such a beautiful but tragic track. The line “An ocean made its way from your coast to my eyes” still brings up borderline hysteric tears every time we hear it! It’s such an emotional track and anyone who is in a long-distance relationship, specifically with someone in ‘California,’ can relate.

‘Still New York’ – MAX & Joey Bada$$
We’ve openly expressed our love for this track many times and will continue to do so forever. The people of New York have such pride in where they are from and that is poured out from MAX and Joey Bada$$ in this track! Only traveling to New York once ourselves, we can automatically understand why there’s such an attachment to this city. It’s one of the best places in the United States and ‘Still New York’ is enough to convince anyone of that. Plus, we’ll never say no to hearing MAX belt and show us more of his incredible vocal range.

‘I Love LA’ – Emblem3
We decided to give y’all a blast from the past by talking about this absolute bop ‘I Love LA’ by X-Factor alums Emblem3. ‘I Love LA’ expresses that the West Coast truly is the best coast! It’s all about showing some love for the city of angels. Anyone who’s visited this city can feel the energy and see why it’s so beloved! This is the ultimate summer song and is still as good as it was the day the band released it!

‘Hello Seattle’ – Owl City
If you’ve ever been to Seattle this song just makes you long to be there again. From the descriptions of the beautiful mountains that you can only find in the Pacific Northwest. Adam, the lead singer of Owl City, paints such a beautiful picture in this track of what an incredible ocean-side city Seattle is. As we get back to normal; much like Daya wants to run away to ‘Montana’, we want to run away to Seattle.

‘West Texas’ – Greyson Chance
In this track, you can hear Greyson singing all about being “born and bred in West Texas.” It’s all about the values that are instilled in you about being a good person and being born in the south. We truly think anyone who comes from that side of the United States can look to this track and really see their upbringing in the lyrics.
