Speaking of Jake’s piano performances, that gives us the perfect opportunity to talk about his latest track ‘Middle of Love!’ It absolutely blew us away! We love the aesthetic and colors that make up the video set the scene brilliantly. Jake Wesley Rogers on the piano is something we need, always. We can tell that he is a stellar performer just from this video alone. We would love to see him rocking outlive. The outfit and the scenes at the piano give us major Elton John vibes.

‘Middle of Love’
‘Middle of Love’ feels like a modern-day spin on the sounds of the 60s and 70s. The soft, upbeat pop elements blend with drumbeats you can feel in your chest to create an elevated listening experience. It has a vibe that makes you want to get up and groove along to it.
According to Jake,
I wrote ‘Middle of Love’ when I started to notice that love was causing destruction all around me. I saw my grandpa dying slowly after the loss of his wife, I read about my LGBTQ+ heroes who were mostly all murdered or exiled, and I witnessed my own romantic relationship exploding right before my eyes. When I finally sat down to write Middle of Love with Justin Tranter and Eren Cannata, it was the perfect storm; all my guts just spilled out.

We love the poeticism of the track, and we love the way Jake Wesley Rogers uses his voice and his songwriting to write about love, loss, and the LGBTQ+ experience. The lyrical theme of love causing destruction is definitely in contrast with the fun, colorful, upbeat vibe of the production and video, but it paints an interesting picture about love causing destruction. Love can be beautiful, strong, and vibrant, but still, causes this type of heartache all the same.
Not to mention, Jake Wesley Rogers’ voice.
Oh. My. God. We could gush about his vocals forever. His voice categorizes him as a vocal powerhouse in our book. This makes total sense considering Adele, Regina Spektor, and Florence + the Machine are some of his heroes! The vocals plus his piano performances lead us to believe that he would captivate a live audience and we’re just waiting for the day we get to see it!
We highly, highly, highly recommend checking out more of Jake’s music and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next! What do you think of this new track? Which other songs by Jake are your faves? Let us know in the comments below or come find us over on Twitter @TheHoneyPOP!
